Alex walks a few paces ahead of Ethan, glancing over her shoulder every so often.

Ethan can tell she's thinking about something, and it's taking a lot of brain power.

Eventually, she stops, turning to face him. "You know Charlie's in love with you, right?"

"You told me!" she points a finger at Ethan. "You told me back when I kissed you for the first time!"

"Eh? Oh..." Ethan suddenly remembers that little misunderstanding. He doesn't even know how to explain that one without sounding like an idiot.

"You don't just kiss your friends for the hell of it! You kiss them because you like them! So her kissing you, I get. Trust me. I. Get. it. But you kissing her..." Alex puts her hands up, " Look. I know what I said. 'Go nuts'. But there is just something about Charlie that..." she drops her hands and rubs her elbow, "I just don't feel like I can compete."
