Authors notes on the story

This story was originally written for a Halloween contest, and while it was a reader fan favorite it was disqualified from the contest for being "too frightening."

As you can probably imagine I was annoyed by that decision. It's like disqualifying a contestant in an archery tourney for hitting bullseye. Utter bullshit.

So I saved the story for myself and after a few edits and other peripheral notes this story gave birth to what is now my world of Myrioth. I'm still quite proud of this story, partly because of the bullshit that lead to this world's creation.
