Aurelie shows her knowledge

Aurelie was in awe as she looked at the manoeuvres with experienced eyes. She took a few photographs, of the landscape, of the ship, of the sailors. Soon however she could not help herself from willing to take a more active part to the ship life. She put her camera back in its bag and hanged it from a hook next to the wheelhouse. Then she walked along the deck, her left hand resting on the pommel of her saber, her right arm folded behind her back as she looked at the sailors.

She spotted one of them who was belaying a halyard in an un-optimal way.

"Tut, tut, tut! Sailor! Look at that mess. You should wind a line in the sense of its threads or you are sure to create kinks, and I assure you that in a gale, you do not want a kink if that halyard." She took the coil off its pin and threw it on the deck. "Now, show me you know how to do it properly. I know you can."

She made a step backward, crossed her arms on her chest and looked at the sailor with a superior grin on her face.
