Aurélie escapes through the hatch

At last Aurélie fingers reached the deadbolt and slid it. With a sigh of relief, she pushed the grating up and climbed up the last rungs of the ladder, feeling the wooden lid resting against her back. She was halfway out when the grate was violently pushed back down, trapping her midriff between it and the hatch. She was painfully trapped with half her body above the deck while her hips and legs kicked and pushed the ladder below.

She contorted herself to see what had happened and she saw a sailor kneeling on the grating, his weight trapping her in the narrow opening. He was viciously grinning at her.

"Trying to escape, are we?"
