Attempt an excuse to Ashley.

"Close the door, Ashley," you tell her.

She silently does so.

"Have a seat," you continue directing.

You then watch as your secretary unsurprisingly continues to follow your instructions.

"Let me start by confirming that you saw PRECISELY what you thought that you saw. That was indeed the young lady from Accounting, and she was indeed upset," you inform her.

"I think I'd better go while I STILL have this job," Ashley says, before turning towards the door to your office.

"The reason why has nothing to do with her job here," you explain honestly, before watching as she retakes the seat across the desk from you.

You then take your calmed-down secretary into confidence, explaining about the bet.
