At the beginning of a new quest.

When you woke up, neither you nor Rei spoke about what happened before you fell asleep, simply getting up and putting your clothes on without a word before going downstairs. When you arrive to the main room of the inn, you see Douma sitting alone at a table, waiting for you, as when she saw you, she smiled softly before waving at you as you and Rei got to the table.

The table was already filled with food, may it be bread, butter, milk, jam, you name it. So what else could you do when you sat down than starting to eat ? And obviously Rei did the same, as Douma said to you :

"I have g-gone ahead and ordered this... I hope it is eno-enough..."

"No worries, Rei will eat everything at the speed she's going." You reply with a laugh as you watched Rei just stuff herself with the food, taking some yourself so that she doesn't eat everything before you add, for Rei. "Can you just calm down on the food ? We'll need to go to the Waypoint after this."

She didn't answer anything, but she stopped eating after some time, letting out a small sigh. "I'm stuffed..." She then says, eliciting a giggle from Douma while you were finishing your breakfast too.

"I'll pay for the breakfast, then we will go to the Waypoint, alright ?"

As both Rei and Douma nod, you go to the bartender to pay for the dinner of yesterday's evening as well as this morning's breakfast, but after paying, you turn around and see in a corner of the inn the party you saw some days earlier at the Adventurer's Waypoint : the human, the orc and the female oni. For some reason though, their presence made you uncomfortable this time and they stared right at you. Out of pure survival instinct, you made sure to not look at any of them in the eyes, or you felt like something bad will happen.

You then got back to your table, seeing Rei and Douma already up, only waiting for you before going outside the inn with you following them closely. Once outside the inn, you let out a long breath, before saying :

"Hey Rei, do you remember the party you told me to avoid ?"

"Yes, why do you ask that ?" She softly replies.

"I think they were watching us. I saw them in the inn staring at me."

Rei stopped when she heard that, her ears perking up, before she started walking quicker.

"Let's get far from here." She just says, as you and Douma follow her.

At the pace the three of you were going, it didn't take long before you got to the Adventurer's Waypoint. When you got there, you directly made your way to the woman you saw yesterday, to register for the upcoming quest, or calling it "battle" might be a bit more appropriate now that you think of it...

Either way, when you get to the woman, who was already at the same place she were yesterday, even though it was relatively early in the morning, Rei says to her :

"Is it still possible to register a party to help the Legends dealing with the Chaos Legion ?"

"It is indeed." Answers the woman, looking at the three of you, before asking. "Are you really a party, though ? You don't seem like one."

"We are indeed." You say, pretty confident for some reason. "We just came back from a quest yesterday, before hearing you ask for help."

The confidence in your voice seemed to be enough for the woman, who simply shrugged before replying :

"Okay, I trust you. Just give me your names then." Before she pulled out a small paper and a feather from her bag.

"I am Adam Marshall, the Vixen here is Rei, and there's Douma." You say, pointing Rei, then Douma as you gave their names, while the woman wrote your names down, before putting back the paper and the feather inside her bag, looking back at you as she said :

"Everything's in order for me. We will depart from here in thirty minutes, and walk all the way to Noldrin, where you'll get to prepare yourselves. Anything you buy there will be paid by the Legends themselves, but even with that, try not to buy too much."

This information made Rei's eyes shine, but before she said anything, you simply told her :

"We're only getting what's necessary for the quest when we get to Noldrin, Rei, nothing more, understood ?"

"Yes, understood..." She replies, her ears drooping and the shine in her eyes fading away. Seeing that, you were convinced you saved the Legends money by stopping her.

"We'll get a tent for Douma, then we come back here." You add, before turning around, heading to the shop where you got your tents with Rei, as Douma and a depressed Rei followed you, neither of them saying a word when you bought the tent and the bad, one because she's shy, and the other because she's thinking of whatever she could have bought.
