At the Hospital, Part 2

Not long after, it was Elizabeth's turn. Both Jabo and Don Silvio had shown up for the birth of her son, and both had more than a passive interest in how it turned out. Don Silvio, no matter what, would be the 'godfather' of the child, but he thought he had at least a fifty percent chance of being the biological father as well.

Jabo gripped Elizabeth's hand, but the former beauty queen was an old hand at birthing babies. In only a couple of hours, she pushed out her newest son, visibly relieved that it was clearly half-Black. Don Silvio's lips pursed briefly before he smiled, congratulating Elizabeth.

"And now that your son is born, I trust you'll be fulfilling your obligations to our organization," Silvio said to Elizabeth.

"Of course, Don Silvio," Elizabeth said, still covered in sweat. "I'm at the leisure for your organization."

"Good," Silvio said. "I'll be in town to visit, but Luca will make the arrangements as necessary. I'll be returning to New York. Take care of her, Jabo. She is ... quite special."

"That she is," Jabo agreed.
