At sea

The first few days at sea are uneventful. The weather is calm, and the sea seems quiet. Captain Ben gives up on pirate talk quickly, so no mutiny occurs, and everyone seems to be having as good a time as can be expected.

You get along with the crew well, especially those few that picked up a partner in their short time in the old world. You and Ferra gravitate towards them, more out of happenstance than intent. Of the two dozen crew, only four have partners, and they’ve all joined the journey. Despite being the only women on the boat, they’re treated well. That’s unsurprising, as your father hand picked this crew, not to mention that most monster girls are formidable in their own right. For the most part, these four are no exception.

A man named Brian is paired up with an elven woman named Eileen. Both are tall and lean, and she proves herself an incredible archer, and a lovely singer. Many times she would be asked to stop singing because the crew would simply stop working to listen to her. All this combined with her long blonde hair and striking good looks, she appears to have stepped straight out of a fantasy novel.

Next was Darren, a giant of a man who was amusingly paired up with a goblin girl named Clara. She of course bears a striking resemblance to your aunt Lynn, except with inky black hair and sparkling blue eyes. Their size differences prompted many jokes that he wanted a daughter figure instead of a girlfriend, despite the fact that she was actually several years older than him. Despite that, everyone adores Clara, and the little goblin becomes something of a mascot almost immediately.

Then there was Harry, who had hooked up with a buxom bunny girl named Heather. It was no mystery why he had agreed to become her mate, considering her incredible…assets. However, she was more than just a impressive set of breasts. It turns out that Heather was also an accomplished swordswoman, almost on par with you. For a variety of reasons, she quickly becomes everyone’s favorite sparring partner.

Finally there was Steven, who got together with the most appropriate of the monster girls, a Marid, or water spirit. Her name was Shanna, and with her dark blue skin and green hair, she stood out amongst the largely pale crew. She spends a lot of time swimming alongside the boat, and she and Steven seem incredibly happy together, to the point that he’s rarely seen away from her.

As for the rest, they all seem eager to make the journey, for various reasons. Some want to find monster girls of their own. Others simply want adventure. Most have discovered magic talents since arriving in the old world, of varying power and usefulness. For example, one man can change the color of inanimate objects temporarily. While it’s amusing to eat an entirely blue dinner, it’s hardly a useful ability. However, a couple of them have wind or weather manipulating abilities, and being able to create wind for sailing is incredibly useful for now.

The journey has only just begun, but things are going quite well!
