Do things get better by tomorrow morning?
At least her morning starts off nice
Amilia woke up with the golden sun in her face, and the soft chirping of the birds ringing in her ears. The skunks smell even seemed to have subsided a little bit. She stretched her arms, and started walking again.
She started foraging for her breakfast. Before she left her old life, she did do her research on this. She know what plants, mushrooms, nuts, flowers, fruits and berries to eat. She collected as much as she could find, and ate her meal sitting on a log. As she ate, a small squirrel walked up to her.
"Hey, little buddy. Here, have a nut." After she gave it a nut, the squirrel broke the nut and started eating it.
"See, I knew it was a good idea to live here. I made a little friend, and I already start to feel like I'm connected to something bigger than myself."
But just as she said that, she saw a hiking group coming her way. She knew she couldn't be seen. If she was, they might alert the police, her parents would find out where she is, and then she'd have even less freedom than before.
