Chapter 11
What's your next move?
Assert Your Dominance
"Don't give me those looks!" You command your fellow waitresses. (You refuse to stop thinking of them as your fellows, at least until/unless they try to attack you.) "Armok has promised me the power and vision to get us safely out of the town and set us on our path to **** for all the slaps on the ass and breast gropings we have received: so I accepted his offer and became his cleric FOR YOU!" You state defiantly. "Those who wish to let religious bigotry cloud their judgement are free to stay, the rest of you follow me and I will take us onward to glory!" You promise, hoping fiercely that you have not just lied to your allies.
Everyone looks at everyone else, none of them confident enough to make the first move, till one red headed girl who works the opposite side of the restaurant from you steps forward and goes to one knee before you, holding out a cheap 'pot metal' throwing dagger in her hands. "I pledge myself to your service and Armok's Faith." She states.
Like a ripple from a stone in a still pond the others follow her lead, and proffer whatever they have to you, which you accept graciously, coming out of it with an equipment inventory that looks like this...
/===========================================================================================\
Equipment
Head: Server's Frill: Part of your uniform.
Face:
Neck: God Touched Gem: This black gem has a special connection to your God, allowing you to draw more freely on divine power.
Increases the effects of your Divine spells by 150%. Allows you to use 'Prayer' ability twice as many Times per day. Doubles the effects of your sacrifices. Item is 'Soul-Bound' and may not be removed or lost once equipped. (May only be equipped by Clerics.)
Shoulders/Cape:
Torso: Server's Uniform: Attractive clothing to help you get tips at your Job.
Arms:
Hands:
Ring:
Groin/Belt: Warriors Girdle I: This sturdy leather belt has a wide portion at the front protecting your vitals, and is enchanted to increase strength slightly.
+1 to melee attack, +1 to Melee Defense. Slots for 4 potions, 4 belt loops. Stat bonuses increase to +2 when worn by a character of the 'Warrior' Class.
Potion Slot 1:
Potion Slot 2:
Potion Slot 3:
Potion Slot 4:
Belt Loop 1: Cheap Leather Scabbard: This cost effective scabbard of cured brown leather fits a common short sword.
Belt Loop 2: Cheap Cloth Coin Pouch (Container): A cheap pouch of off-white cotton.
This pouch grants 4 squares of storage. These squares may only be filled with coins.
Holding: 12 Copper, 9 Silver, 5 Gold, 1 Platinum.
Belt Loop 3:
Belt Loop 4:
Legs:
Feet:
Weapon 1: Steel Short Sword: This sword with a three foot long leaf shaped blade is made of mild steel, a much superior weapon to short swords of lesser quality. It is of common workmanship and cannot receive enchantment or be reforged.
Martial Light Weapon: Increases Melee Damage by (3-8) HP.
Weapon 2/Shield: Pot Metal Throwing Dagger: this cheap throwing dagger is barely better than one made of bronze. It can be easily stopped by most metal armor unless you have good aim and strike for a weak point. Pot Metal weapons can never be higher workmanship than 'poor'.
Martial Light Weapon: Increases Ranged Damage by (1-3) HP.
Backpack/Quiver:
Undergarments: White Cotton Panties and Nipple Pasties: The very cheapest of undergarments, which leave most of your breasts exposed without other clothing. Commonly only worn by NPCs.
These garments prevent people from engaging you in sexual contact as long as they are worn.
Encumbrance: Lightly Encumbered.
\===========================================================================================/
You sigh.
You are now light years ahead of where you were just 20 minutes ago, but you still are wearing: as you have known for quite some time now, having checked through every screen of your character profile at one time or another when business was slow: nothing on your legs, arms, shoulders, or backpack slot. You also realize after a second that your neck slot is now occupied by the gem: Permanently, which means you will never be able to equip a Banking Amulet. That irritates you slightly, since you will have to waste your fairly limited encumbrance carrying coins and certain other kinds of treasure around with you, before you realize a key fact: you have four willing minions to wear such an item for you... Reassured by this happy thought you sheath your short sword and pick up the sharp rock which started it all, and hand it to the Red Haired Waitress who started the chain of pledges to your new God's faith.
"Here, it's brought me good luck so far, I think you should use it." You say, and turn to the others.
"I have not had any visions from Armok yet, but I am sure he will be true to his word and guide us safely out of the city: in the mean time we are huntresses, we will be looking for missed loot, severely wounded 'heroes'," You practically spit the word. "and other people like us we can recruit to the faith and our cause. Once free of the city and this raid, we will make more detailed plans. Is everyone understood?"
There is a murmur of ascent, and your allies form up behind you, all but one of them unarmed and unable to do anything in combat but grapple, but you have FAITH that Armok will keep you all safe, and who knows, perhaps give you chances to add to your flock.
What do you come upon first?
Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
