Ask the children for help.

“Hello” you shout out to the children “I am Knight Gwen, I fell into this strange land through a portal,” you continue. The children just stare at you blankly “I have lost my companions, Knight Crawford, and Knight Alice. Have any of you seen them?” You shout the question out, growing more apprehensive by the second.

The children tell you nothing. They stand in the doorframe of the village huts, on the town green, and in the road. They all are staring at you, and still, they are all silent.

“I don’t know what is going on here, but I am Knight. If you children are in need of help, I can help you, just say so. If you don’t need my help, that’s fine, but I do need to find my companions and my way home.”

Your **** frustration does not seem to move the children.

You sit down, figuring that if these children won’t help, at least this town makes for a decent place to sit and recover. As you are sitting, pulling a hard bit of cheese from your meager supplies, a young blond girl approaches you. You look up, and into her eyes. Sitting, you are eye to eye with the little blonde girl.

“Yes,” you begin, “What’s your name? Is there something I can do for you? Have you seen my companions?”

“We’re not allowed to say,” she says, and the breaking of the silence comes as such a surprise that your jaw hangs open as you listen to the girl. “Mother gets mad at us if we talk to strangers.” The young girl continues, “I shouldn’t be talking now, but Mother is great, and I am sure that Mother will help you once she hears about your troubles. You should wait for mother.”

The little girl goes running off before you can question her further. You finish your bit of cheese while thinking about the little girl.
