Ask her about the Queen

'The Queen is powerful and charismatic ruler. Under her rule the entire kingdom of Qutordom has flourished. We may be quite small compared to our neighbours, but with her as ruler we have been thriving.'

'What about her personal life, though?'

'Her majesty is married to the King consort, but he is nothing more than a figurehead. She often takes fancy to other men, and occasionally women too. She was interested in mother too, I believe, but mother won't tell me what happened exactly. Her flings never last long, and from time to time they end quite messily- her temper is quite short, they tell me, although when I've talked to her she's always been quite amicable.'

'You've talked to her?' You did not think that such a proud Queen would talk to a girl like Anne.

'Her majesty prides herself in personally knowing the noblemen and noblewoman of the city. We are not a big kingdom, and our strength lies in our unity after all. In saying that, I suspect she took a personal interest in me. Regardless, nothing has come of it although we remain on speaking terms.'

You nod to yourself- you had heard of the Queen's fearsome reputation of course, but you weren't aware of her promiscuity. You store this information away and decide to change the subject.
