Ask about Family

Ethan asks about his family.

“Hmm,” Layla makes an odd thinking face. “Nothing recent. Or at least in my lifetime. But I can assure you, there is certainly a few up your family tree."

Ethan sighs, having expected to hear that.

Layla hesitates before speaking again. "I don’t say this to be cruel, don’t take too much comfort in that…”

“Uh…” Ethan suddenly feels worried. “Why?”

“It can skip a few generations. Your mother not being from here helps, but you are still very much a carrier.” Layla sighs. “Just… be mindful who you decide to have children with.”

Suddenly, Ethan feels the need to invest in condoms.
