What's next?
Ask about Detainee 1983.
Like yesterday, you spend today's break asking A.V.A some questions.
G: Hey A.V.A, why am I being assigned Detainee 1983?
A: Due to high worker shortages, we are temporarily expanding our worker's clearance one level above their assignment. Today you will be interrogating Detainee 1983 who has been admitted into the Auction House, Level B as of June 12, 2154, 3:12 A.M.
"So just about a month ago." you think to yourself. You also note the odd time of day the Detainee was admitted. "Did people really work that late or did A.V.A just enter him into the system at night."
G: Tell me about Detainee 1983.
A: You have been authorized clearance for Level B.
Detainee 1983 was part of a renegade militia group called the Sons of Liberty or S.O.L. Since the founding of the Federation, S.O.L has been engaging in guerilla warfare with the Federation's outermost sectors. Detainee 1983 was captured during a countermeasure raid on [XXXXXXX]. In his initial assessment, Detainee 1983 was evaluated with highly aggressive and violent tendencies. Upon further assessment with Neurolink™, he has been diagnosed with conduct disorder, authority defiant disorder, substance-related disorders, **** dependency disorder, and mild bipolar disorder. With the accumulation of his past criminal records and Neuorlink™ diagnosis, he is a Level B-3 Detainee undergoing Federation approved treatment Level B-3.
Is there anything else you'd like to know about Detainee 1983?
You read A.V.A's answer again, remotely surprised at the level of detail it went into, now that you had higher clearance. Some parts were still redacted but it wasn't like you were interested in helping a violent militia group anyways. The Sons of Liberty rang some bells but you mostly saw them through newsletters or Grey workers talking about them at the mines. It was a bit unsettling, having to interrogate a former war criminal. But you assume if he's been taking treatment like Level A Detainee 2391 or even 2392, he would be a ghost of his former self. You have a growing morbid curiosity about the specifics though. Especially with your newly granted clearance, your palms sweat at the sheer notion. You wonder how far you could push the information out of A.V.A.
G: What is treatment B-3? What's so different between treatments A and B?
A: Treatment B is similar to Treatment A in terms of diet, medication, routine physicals, and mental rehabilitation. The highlighted difference between the two is the use of Neurolink™. Treatment B is further divided by the setting of the Detainee's Neurolink™. Based on the Detainee's initial assessment and diagnosis, the level on their Neurolink™ is set accordingly. The higher the setting, the stronger influence Neurolink™ has on the user's neural and cognitive function. The settings can go from the lowest 1 to the highest 9.
You've never heard of Neurolink before. You knew biochips and tech body modifications existed but they were very few and far in between. Maybe you've seen one corporate have one during a routine inspection at the mines but apart from that... Before you can type another question the control device buzzes and Mitch's voice comes through the other end.

Human life has become an acceptable form of commodity. Since the end of WWIII and the recent Economic Meltdown of 2099, the world is entering a Constitutional turnover. What's to become of the New World where men willingly enslave themselves for a slice of bread?
