Ask Them To Stay Outside The Village While You Prepare Everyone

You set the cart down outside the front gate, and ask everyone to just wait there while you prepare the village for them. They agree and you go inside you relatively unprotected village.

As you step in everyone stops what they're doing and looks at you. You notice one of your brothers of strength and wave to him. "Hey brother! I'm home!"

He comes up to you. He's about a foot taller than you, and makes your muscles look minuscule by comparison. "Hey, runt. How did finding a mate go?"

"Great, I found a lovely dark elf for a mate."

He laughs. "Yeah, sure. I'll believe that when I see it. Probably some dumb broad with painted skin, trying to fool people into thinking she's a dark elf."

You give him a playful punch on the arm. "You'll eat those words when you see her."

"Yeah? Where is she then?"

"Outside. I'm just getting everyone prepared to meet her... and her father."

Your brother groans. "You brought her father with?"

"Yeah, I had to. He's sick and... they were both banished from the elf kingdoms. So, I had ****."

Your brother takes you into a head lock. "You always did have too soft a heart, runt." He then pushes you toward your home. "Better go tell mom and dad. I'll inform the rest of the village."

"Sure, you get the easy stuff."

"It builds character."

You wave and walk towards your house, and say, "Whatever you say, jerk."

As you step into your house, Mom and Dad and eating supper together. Mom's jumps to her feet as she sees you, and leaps into your arms.

"Oh, Sweety, I'm so glad you're safe. We were beginning to fear the worst. Did you find a mate?" she asks.

You nod. "Yeah. I think you'll really like her, Mom."

"If she's good enough for you, she's perfect for me. When do we get to meet her?"
