Ask Scott to do some snooping.

“I’m just as curious as you; why Lynn is so cozy with me,” you admit. “I can’t ask her myself, but maybe you could ask around.”

“You want me to ask her?” Scott asks.

“No no, I don’t want her thinking I don’t know why she likes me. Just ask her friends what they know, you know?”

Scott smiles and gives you a thumbs up, “Hey, I’m your man! Any chance to talk up those leggy goddesses…” he grins wistfully before the allure becomes too much and he stands up, “I’m going to go ask them right now!”

“Could you at least wait until class or something?!” you say, reigning your buddy in. “Also, be discreet about it. I don’t want Lynn catching wind that you’re asking around.”

“Don’t worry my friend, I will be as subtle as a cucumber!”

“What does that mean?”

“Well, has anyone ever paid attention to the cucumber?” Scott leans in conspiratorially. “No one pays attention to cucumbers…”

You begin to worry that you picked the wrong guy for the job. Scott frowns, sensing your distrust. “Don’t worry, my friend, I have you covered! Who’s the guy who discovered the peephole in the girl’s change room?”

“There’s a peephole?” you blink.

“Oh, I didn’t tell you? You see how discreet I can be?” he grins, as he preens himself with self confidence. “There’s a lot of things I can find out without others knowing!”

“How long has there been a peephole?” you ask, still stuck on that matter.

“Oh, it was covered up years ago, so it wasn’t really worth mentioning, but still, I found out! A friend of a friend knew about it from his cousin’s neighbor’s uncle I think...” Scott assures you.

Again, you begin to doubt your choice in spymaster.

Despite your misgivings, you let Scott do his thing. He seems more than happy to have an excuse to interact with the cheerleaders. As a talkative guy, you doubt he’d even seem suspicious to be asking lots of questions. Meanwhile, you need to keep Lynn distracted long enough for your buddy to do his research unhindered. Fortunately, you share your next class with her.
