Chapter 12 by Yabusa Yabusa

To the mall, then?

As long as Archer is buying

"You know I basically don't have any money on me, right? If I use a card and they ask to see ID, which they will because I wrote 'see ID' on them, then they're going to refuse. I've got, like, seven bucks total in cash. We could go walk around there, though, I guess. I could stand to move around a little bit." You leaned back in your seat, figuring that would probably be enough to convince Felicia to change plans.

But, Felicia is persistent. "Fine, I'll buy you a couple essentials, but anything I get with my money is also my final say-so, yeah? I will let you veto on the grounds that it's uncomfortable, and when I mean uncomfortable I mean like cutting off circulation sort of uncomfortable. And for a while, we can make up the difference with some stuff you could borrow from me, our builds are pretty different but I have some stuff that will still work." She sips the milkshake she had as she stood up, and motioned for you to follow. The weather was starting to cloud up, and it looked like a storm might be on its way, so it would make sense to walk swiftly.

"Really kind of weird that the rich girl didn't give you a budget or something for this. You can't go sell the coin, that would ruin everything, but you have to start basically from nothing. That's not very fair." Archer kept a quick pace, as you hurried on your shorter legs to match. It wasn't so easy to do, your gait was thrown off at Archer's swift walk.

"I dunno," you said, "maybe she would have if I asked. But again, I think I am not on her good side right now. I couldn't walk around in my old clothes, that's for sure. Not without major alterations, and the shoes just wouldn't have worked."

Felicia nodded, and hurried to the mall entrance just as the rain started to fall. You hurried as well, hugging your arms around your breasts like you were trying to keep them from bursting out of your shirt on you. But, once you were indoors again, you relaxed.

Spiral City Mall lived up to its name, as the escalator corkscrewed up and down the circular building, moving slowly enough that you could depart at any of its six floors. It always made for a nice, relaxing shopping experience, since by the nature of the store's design, it was all intended to slow you down, make you not rush past everything, and really get a feel for what's in the windows of the shops.

You walked behind Felicia, who headed up to the second floor--women's wear. She was rubbing her hands together in excitement and anticipation, her voice nearly squealing out when she starts to talk. "Oh, there's so many choices for my new gal pal! Obviously you'll need a couple sets of underwear, I'll pick out some really tasteful stuff for you there for sure, then... the weather's just starting to warm up so some good everyday shirts and pants, oooh maybe a good formal sort of skirt, and..." Archer turns to you with a grin. "Are you a one-piece or bikini kind of lady?"

You groaned. "That's all really expensive, don't you think? I don't plan to be going to any pool parties or--"

"Oh we are definitely going to some pool parties, my friend. Def-i-nite-ly. Let it be known right here and right now that I am absolutely going to **** you into going to pool parties with me or I spill your secret. ...okay so I wouldn't do that to you but pleeeeease? You're my best friend and none of my other girlfriends ever want to go with me to those."

You clenched your fists tightly, and then shut your eyes, before you gave in. "Okay, fine, a one-piece. One one-piece..!"

Another squeal of delight, and Archer hurried along toward the beachwear store, Life's A Beach. You wish your talent had been keeping up with Archer or something, because that woman really moved through the store in pursuit of the perfect suit. You just sort of stopped next to one and pointed. "This one's blue, how about blue? Blue's good?"

"No, not that. It's got a really weird cut in the legs, you're going to be spending all day adjusting it. With your body, I'd think more like..." Felicia grabs a swimsuit off the rack, and holds it out in front of you. It was navy with little gold hexagon patterns on it, and what you noticed first and foremost was the cups for the chest had quite a v-shaped dip.

You inhaled sharply, and then nodded. "Yeah, okay, let's go buy it."

Felicia looked at you like you were from another planet. "What just go buy it? That might fly in the dude-verse but you are going to want to make sure it's a good fit, Jane. I'm serious, just try it on! This is a process." Felicia pushed the garment against you and then marched you over to the changing rooms.

You slipped into one of the stalls, trying to find the silver lining in this. At least you were getting practice with you new bra? That was something, right? You wriggled out of your clothes, feeling a little more bloated after that big meal, before you started to slide the stretchy garment up your legs. You felt it widen and expand, as you worked it up over your rounder hips, wriggling the whole time. The fabric actually felt really good against your skin, the cold, smooth lycra adjusting to you. In addition, the somewhat constricting fabric when around your legs made you realize the magic knew well enough to keep your legs smooth. That's something, at least.

Once it was up around your hips, you pulled the straps the rest of the way up. It took a bit of work to get your chest to nestle into the cups of the suit, but once things were in place, it felt... surprisingly comfortable. You didn't want to admit it, but the way it hugged your stomach, the cleavage that it created in the v-neck cut, the way the cut at your legs flowed around your hips and framed your rear... it was good. You looked amazing. You shivered as you realized that in your reflection.

Felicia knocked on the door. "Hey, are you done yet? I want to see if I'm buying it!"

You slowly opened the door, bracing yourself for Felicia's response. She stayed quiet for a moment as she looked you up and down, then she did the little twirl motion with her hands. You slowly spun around, arms up so Archer could get a good look. She gulped, like she didn't expect it to look quite this incredible on you either. "Uhh... yeah, that'll, that'll do. So, I mean, since I can't buy you a whole wardrobe and all that, this might be something you can wear just with some jeans or capris in a pinch." Archer reaches her hand out toward you for a moment, then pulls it away, like you were some forbidden beauty to touch. "So, yeah, get changed again and then let's take it. I wish we had all day just for in here... but whatever, it's fine. It's a starting point, just scratching the surface."

You changed back, and Felicia hurried to the register to buy this. It felt like she was doing a clothes-shopping speedrun, where she had to get you to try on the most clothes as fast as possible, which meant it was time to move on!

At first, you were worried Felicia was going to buy you just a lot of sexy stuff, especially given how she was looking at you earlier in the day, or even just moments ago with the swimwear on. But, you had to begrudgingly admit, she was behaving considerately, probably in hopes that she wasn't going to scare you away from being Jane more often. A few babydoll tees, button-up shirts, and a zip-up cropped jacket later, and you had a few mix-and-match options that didn't break the bank. One pair of jeans, one knee-length geometric-pattern skirt, and a pair of... you didn't know what to call them, skirt-pants? Archer made that same squealing noise when you wore them, so clearly those were more for her benefit, but they seemed pretty interesting and of the options available to you, they at least had deep cargo pockets on either side. After confirming your measurements with one of the store assistants in the budget attire store, Archer was able to find you three bras with different functions: sport, underwire, and an embarrassingly lacy getup in black, which you didn't realize would be visible through the lighter color button-up shirts but Archer definitely had intended that. To finish it out, Felicia found a pack of panties, a pack of assorted-length socks, and some stockings.

"Archer, this is... so much..." you said, holding a pile of clothes and bags from various stores as she held the rest at the final checkout stand. It was a great starter pack, to be sure, but even with some of the items on sale, it wasn't going to come cheap.

Felicia nodded, looking at the various bags. "I guess maybe it's a bit of a splurge, but consider it your birthday gift. Or, I dunno, what's the next holiday? Happy Cinco de Mayo or whatever. And like I said, you'll be able to borrow some of my stuff too, and I'll figure out some way to even things out later."

"Well... thanks." You looked down for a moment, then back at Archer. "I knew you'd be the one to have my back on all this. Even, uh, even more than I would have expected you to. Like, I was figuring I'd show you and then we'd just play some video games for a while."

Felicia smiled sweetly at you. "Aww. No problem, Jane." She looked you once over one more time, head to toe and back, before she bit her lower lip. "But if you really do feel like I'm owed some repayment for all these significant monetary expenses I've been met with today, I can think of some stuff we can do next."

What's on Felicia's mind?
