Arrive at Khorheim.

The portal shuts behind you. According to the map, this is quite far from home. Over a hundred miles for sure, and straight through a massive mountain range. Hopefully you get a ride home. Both your party and Vex's follow the path until it leads to a massive opening within the mountainside. Giant stone statues of bearded men beckon you inside, which leads into a carved out interior lit with braziers and magical lights. Though it's massive, the residents are short, but you also have no worries about the ceiling collapsing. It's no wonder the construction is coming along so well at Castle Phoenix. This place is structurally sound.

Inside is like a maze. There are upper levels, lower levels, chasms, and countless buildings and people all around you. Not all of them are dwarves, though the majority are. It seems that travellers aren't rare here, which explains why you weren't stopped on the way in.

Masumi turns her masked face to you as she walks. "This is the most known entrance to the city. Many come and go this way. What you'll want to do is seek out a wyvern ride to the peak, unless you truly wish to climb all the way up before nightfall. Though if you do, and you get any scrapes, come see me. I'll kiss them better for you." She chuckles.

It's really hard to tell if she's being honest or just mocking me.

"We're splitting up here," says Vex. "See you at the top."

"And there we'll be sure to have a confrontation that nobody shall forget!" Kashura announces.

"Yeah. See you there," you respond. Then you turn to your own party and nod. "I guess we might as well look around a little bit. It's what, like halfway through the afternoon? This is something where I don't really want to be the first to arrive."

Vex is a devil. There's no doubt about that. Kashura is a human, though definitely an odd one. But what is Masumi? The answer is probably the obvious, but I'd like to hear it. Does this world really have kitsune? Nine-tailed foxes with shapeshifting abilities. Though the leaf thing I thought was like, a tanuki thing. That's why it's in Animal Crossing. Oh well. I'm guessing I'll have a lot more questions when I get to this meeting.
