"I gave up on the restaurants," Antoine said simply, while doing the dishes in their home in the hood.

"Oh?" Elizabeth said, exhausted, fucked half to ****. "I thought you were going to stick it out."

"It was a losing proposition," he said. "I should have called it a day a long time ago on them. I opened up a little bar, not too far from Sugar's. You should stop by sometime, say hi." Elizabeth nodded dully, and the two went to separate rooms for a moment of solace.
