Another lead

Interrogating Bullseye wasn't easy, but with Raven's help, the group eventually got information on one of the hunt's ringleaders -- Bullseye had met with Cheetah at Fisk Tower after the hunt had started, and while it wasn't much, it was the best lead they had. Amidst the chaos, both Cheetah and Kraven had remained elusive; in addition, with what the group had gleaned from their interrogation, something was going on at Fisk Tower. With that in mind, everyone prepared themselves to head out to Cheetah's last known location.

"You think Kingpin's involved in this hunt?" Cassie wondered out loud as the group left Titan Towers.

"Knowing Fisk, I don't think he's the mastermind behind it... it's just not his style," Felicia answered, with Gwen quickly agreeing. "But there's no way he's not trying to take advantage of everything. And if he's got the likes of Cheetah meeting people at Fisk Tower, there's gotta be some information we can get out of it."

"Yeah, this isn't something Kingpin's going to support, unless he can profit from it somehow," Gwen added. "So if he's involved, there's-"

"-Quiet down, everyone," Laura interrupted. "We're being watched."

"Watched? By who?" Selina asked.

"A dog. It's been following us..."

"A dog? Like, a hunting dog? I really hope we're not being tracked..." Gwen worried.

"Maybe. Sounds like it's wounded, though." Laura continued.

Selina was dismissive. "Not worried. Felicia & I deal with guard dogs all the time."

"I take it you two aren't fans?" Laura mused.

"Oh, they're not a problem. We're just more fond of cats," Selina clarified. "They're smarter, more elegant..."

"...and have no sense of loyalty," Laura interrupted. "But I'm not worried about an attack dog. It's what might follow that's the problem-"

"Krypto!" Cassie exclaimed, having taken notice of the approaching dog. He was limping in obvious pain, but upon seeing Cassie his body language improved somewhat, clearly glad to see a familiar face. "No need to worry, ladies. This one's a friend."

"Huh. You gonna introduce me?" Gwen teased, kneeling down to scratch the dog's ear.

"This guy's name is Krypto. He's, well, Kryptonian. He's also the Super-Family dog," Cassie said, petting Krypto's back. "He spends a lot of time at Titans Tower hanging around with Conner, but he's been staying with Conner's cousin Kara recently. What's going on, buddy? Looks like something out there got to you..."

Gwen looked at the dog's wound with a feeling of unease. "Yeah, that's a nasty wound -- what could have done that to a Kryptonian? I reeeeeally don't like this..."

"I'm not sure. We should take Krypto to Conner -- maybe he'd know," Cassie suggested.

"Uh, ladies? What about Fisk Tower?" Felicia asked. "We don't want the trail getting any colder..."

"You, Selina & Laura can go on ahead. We'll meet you there," Gwen said back. "Krypto's hurt. I'm not leaving him. Just like I wouldn't leave a wounded cat."

"Fair point," Felicia conceded. "Just... try not to take too long, all right? I think Laura's just looking for a reason to take our heads off."

"I think it'll be fun, Felicia -- just the three of us," Selina teased. "Laura acts tough, but I think she likes us."

Laura grunted dismissively. "Just don't slow me down, OK? Gwen, Cassie -- stay in touch. Good luck out there."
