Another chance encounter!

Maddie and I both work at the same coffee shop, and today we were lucky enough to share a shift. It was only about a 10 minute walk, so that was how we were getting there. I keep one eye on her as we walk, and notice she seems to have more spring in her step than usual. More than once I notice her tail seeming to vibrate as we chat and walk. The pink has all but faded from her hair, leaving it a very clear and bright yellow color. We've gotten about 4 or 5 blocks from our apartment building when a female voice from across the street calls out to her. I turn to look, and my jaw drops.

The woman jogging across the street has to be a freaking Amazon! She is easily over six feet tall, probably closer to six and a half, wearing spandex shorts and a sports bra, with very well defined arm and leg muscles, as well as a hint of her abs. Her hair is a light brown, tied back in a ponytail. When Maddie looks over, she gets a huge grin on her face and just calls out "Dani!"

Once the amazon gets across the street, she looks at Maddie and tells her "Damn, it's been what, 4 years since we saw each other? How have you been, girl?"

"I've been good, Matt and I just got an apartment near her!" She then looks at me, and adds "Matt, this is Danika, she and I were friends all through middle and high school. Dani, this is Matthew."

"Nice to meet you, Matt. I would love to stay and talk, but I've gotta finish my run. Although, maybe you'd be willing to catch up with me some at the gym this evening, Mads?" she glances at Maddie with a glint in her eye.

Madison looks regretful as she starts to say "Oh, Dani, I wish I could but...." she pauses, getting a thoughtful look on her face.

"You have other plans, right? It's fine, another time then," Dani says with a disappointed look.

"Actually, you know what, Dani? I was going to say that, but I think I can, change some things around," Maddie says, giving a pointed look at me when she says 'change', then adds on "I would love to. I get off the clock at 4, so pick me up at about 4:30?" Dani gets a huge grin on her face at that and just nods. Maddie gives her the address for the building and our apartment number, and we all go on our own ways.

After Dani is out of earshot, I ask Mads "So who was that?"

"Her name is Danika Greene. We had homeroom together back in 6th grade, and we just kind of fell in together and became friends. By the time we were in high school, we were almost inseparable. We fooled around a little bit, but it was kind of hard for her to enjoy it because, as we discovered, what gets her going is a good workout. Which I was never really able to give her. However!" she hops forward and turns to me, her ears twitching and hands on her hips, "That was before! So I have a request," she smiles mischievously, "I want you to try and find something for me in that app of yours to make it so I can keep up with her! That way, I can make sure to give her a good time afterwards," and she winks at me.

I just smile and shake my head, "I guess I can see what I can find, though I don't even know if there is anything like that on there," I smile at her, and then she turns around and we continue heading to the coffee shop, though it seems like she may be putting a little more sway in her steps now.
