Another Week Gone
It was finally the end of the week, which meant that there was another soccer game. The team was lucky that the first two games were home games. The team was now out on the field getting loose, while the cheerleaders were stretching and going over last minute things before the game was to begin.
The stands were starting to fill up. The soccer teams at the high school always brought a lot of fans because of how good they were. Both the boys and girls teams were in contention for the state championship most every year. The town of Duskville loved supporting the teams. It was almost to the point that the town shut down on game days.
As Zack and Brandon walked over to the sidelines to rest a bit before the game started, Heather, Sharon and Ashley made it over to them. “Good luck tonight guys. We know you don’t need it, but we figured we would give you luck anyway.” Ashley said as she walked over and kissed Zack on the cheek.
“Yeah. Maybe this kiss will give you luck in the goal tonight.” Heather said as she gave him a kiss on the lips.
“I think it will.” Brandon said, surprised by the show of affection from his girlfriend.
Sharon then walked up to Zack and kissed him on the lips as well. “That will hopefully give you the luck so you can score another goal for Ash and I.” Sharon said.
“I will do my best not to let the two of you down then.” Zack said.
“Well, we should get back over to the other girls. We all know when we are not around, they tend to get into trouble.” Heather said as she walked up to her brother and gave him a big hug before saying, “Good luck big brother.”
“Thanks. We will see the three of you after the game.” Zack said and they all nodded in agreement as the girls went back to the rest of the cheerleaders and the boys started to concentrate on the game.
. . .
As the game started, the team from Duskville scored two quick goals against their opponent. After the other team got their feet underneath them, they scored a goal to make the game 2-1. That ended up being the score of the game going into halftime.
While in the locker room, the coach let them know that he was pleased with the way things were going so far. He didn’t have much to add except that they needed to pick up the defense a bit because the other team would be **** being that they were down by a goal.
As the team made their way back out to the field, Zack turned to Brandon and said, “Good luck back there man. The defense looks like they might be able to hold their own since they shaped up after the goal.” Zack said.
“Thanks man. Give em hell up there man. You still need that goal for Ashley and Sharon.” Brandon said with a smile and Zack could help but chuckle.
“Yeah, if I don’t score that goal, I might not be receiving kisses before the game anymore and I can’t have that.” Zack said as the two boys laughed and headed to their positions on the field.
As the second half started, not too much happened even though you could tell that the visiting team was playing hard to get the tying goal. About half way through the second half the visitors did end up tying the game, which deflated the home crowd a little bit.
The home team was quick to get the crowd back into the game as they kept the ball on their offensive end for the most part. With about two minutes left in the game, a good pass was made to Zack and he buried it in the back of the net.
The crowd went wild as the ball went into the goal and now all the team had to do was make sure to play good defense and not let the other team tie things back up. In order to do this, the coach told the team to all pack it into their defensive end of the field. Hopefully, this would help keep their opponents out of the goal.
The team had done this well, but they had a lapse in concentration and one of the opponents strikers got in the box and took a shot with only seconds left in the game. It looked like the ball was going to end up in the back of the net, but out of nowhere, Brandon just barely got his fingertips on the ball, which was enough to send it off course as the final whistle blew and the home time had officially won the game.
The crowd went wild as they rushed the field to congratulate the team. Zack was running to congratulate Brandon when he was hit from the side by two girls. He wrapped his arms around Ashley and Sharon to keep himself from falling on the ground from the way that they hit him. It didn’t work though as the three of them fell to the ground.
The girls were peppering his face with kisses as they were very excited for the win. Zack couldn’t help but laugh as the girls continued to kiss him. Soon enough though, the girls pulled away and Zack stood up and moved to help the girls up as well. As they turned around, they saw Monica and Robert standing there with someone that he didn’t expect.
“Taylor, what are you doing here?” Zack asked in surprise.
“My class got canceled today and I figured that I would come home and support you for your game tonight. Great job little brother.” Taylor said as she stepped forward and pulled her brother into a tight hug.
“Well, it is great that you are home. Maybe you can help me keep our sister straight while you are here.” Zack said.
“You know that is an impossible task.” Taylor said and the two siblings couldn’t help but laugh because they both knew it was true.
Taylor finally pulled away from her brother and his parents made their way to him. “Good job out there today son. You did great.” Robert said.
“Thanks dad.” Zack said as he smiled at his date as he turned to his mom, who pulled him into a tight hug.
“You did great, button. I am so proud of you.” Monica said.
“Thanks mom.” Zack said as he enjoyed his mother’s tight body being pushed up against him.
When Monica finally pulled back, Zack thought he was done with all of the hugs for a while, but he was completely wrong. All he saw was a blur of brown hair attacking him and soon enough he was laying on the ground again, with his twin on top of him, hugging him tight. He couldn’t help but laugh at this and his friends and family that were around him couldn’t help but laugh at the scene as well.
“Damn Heather. If there was a football team here, you should definitely join it.” Sharon said from the side and Ashley and Taylor nodded in agreement.
“How about we get off the ground, sis?” Zack asked and Heather nodded in agreement as she rolled off of her brother and they both got up.
“Sorry about that. I was just so excited.” Heather said with a smile as she then saw her older sister standing there and made her way over to hug her.
“What are you doing here, sis?” Heather asked.
“I had the day off so I decided to come and support you both.” Taylor said as she hugged her younger sister back.
“Well, it is good to have you home. Hopefully we can hang out some.” Heather said.
“You have me all weekend.” Taylor said and Heather nodded at her and smiled.
Finally Brandon made his way to the group with his arm around Madison’s shoulders. Zack saw him and made his way over to his friend.
“Good save man. I didn’t know if you were going to get there.” Zack said.
“Yeah, me either.” Brandon said with a smile.
“What the hell are you two talking about? The kiss for good luck worked.” Heather said with a smirk.
“I guess she is right. Ashley and Sharon gave me luck to score that goal.” Zack said.
“Yeah. You have a point. Maybe it will be good to keep them around.” Brandon said and Heather looked at him with mock shock.
“You aren’t getting rid of me that easily.” Heather said as she walked over toward Brandon and he actually backed up a step.
“Why would I want to?” Brandon finally said.
“That’s more like it.” Heather said with a bright smile as she then kissed him on the cheek and turned to Madison and said, “What did you think of the game, Maddie?”
“It was great. I am just glad that the boys won.” Madison said.
“So, what do you kids say? Let’s all get home and we can celebrate some more.” Monica said and all of the kids nodded in agreement.
They all walked out to the parking lot, with Zack and Heather talking to Taylor. “So, did you bring anyone else home with you?” Zack asked.
“Yeah, Hannah and Peter both came. They wanted to spend time with their families though. Hannah was up in the stands with her parents and Peter just went to his house so that he could see his parents.” Taylor said and the twins nodded.
“Call them and tell them to come over. The more the merrier.” Heather said and Taylor nodded as she pulled out her phone to call her friends.
The two friends quickly agreed and Taylor told them both to bring their parents over as well at the insistence of Monica. As everyone made it to their cars, they got into them and made their way to the Ravers’ and what they all knew was going to be a great night of fun.
When they arrived home, they weren’t surprised to see that their other guests were already there. The big group made their way inside the mansion and they broke up into groups. The younger group went in one direction and the older ones went to the living room and started to talk about nothing in particular. All they knew was that this was going to be a very fun night.
