Chapter 9 by Eblmeg Eblmeg

The next day...

Another Date

By the time morning came, Naruto had still not come up with an idea on how to approach Tenten. It didn't help that he had to sleep in a body he still wasn't completely comfortable with. Hinata's breasts went everywhere as he slept so that he couldn't move at all and had to be completely motionless in order to rest.

At the crack of dawn, Naruto had only gotten a few hours of sleep and groggily made his way into the Hyuga household. Despite it being so early in the day, everyone in the family, including Neji, was up practicing in the mansion's garden. Hinata's father turned from his sparring with Hinata's little sister, Hanabi, and scolded Naruto.

"There are you, Hinata! Decided to sleep in? Well, you'll just have to work twice as hard if you want breakfast."

"Seriously?" muttered Naruto to himself.

Only when it was about ten in the morning did the training let up. Naruto could barely stand from the lack of food in his belly and all the bruises on Hinata's body. He collapsed under a tree, trying to escape the beating sun of the summer day with small success.

Unfortunately, Naruto's brief moment of silence was interrupted by the approach of a shadow.

"There you are," said Neji. "Enjoying Lady Hinata's training?"

"It's horrible!" replied Naruto as he flailed childishly around a little. "I hate it!"

"Well, her father is going easy on you because of an injury he received from a recent mission. You should be thankful."

"Seriously!? What is wrong with that guy!?" Naruto suddenly had a huge wave of pity for Hinata and her lifestyle.

"Regardless," continued Neji. "Time you fulfill your end of the bargain if you want to return to normal."

He then grabbed Naruto by the wrist again, yanking him to his feet and leading him into the village. Specifically, Neji was taking Naruto in the direction of the training grounds, where most young teams normally would meet up. As they walked along, Neji stopped them very suddenly.

"There she is," he muttered to Naruto. "Waiting at the tree past the bushes, straight ahead."

"How can you...Oh, right," Naruto remembered the powers of the Hyuga clan and activated his own Byakugan eyes to see what Neji was talking about. Sure enough, Tenten was restlessly tossing kunai at a few trees, waiting for her teammates.

"Go on," Neji nudged Naruto, holding out the air tank with his other hand. "Talk to her and you'll get this back."

Naruto grunted and panicked to himself as he approached Tenten. He still had no idea what he was going to say to the female ninja in order to satisfy Neji. He couldn't just blurt out "Do you like Neji" or else she'd know exactly how sent this. Subtly wasn't Naruto's strong suit.

Tenten jolted slightly as Naruto came crashing through the bushes, readying some of her kunai for a potential fight. "Hinata? What are you doing here?"

"U-Um, hey, Tenten...," Naruto's own nervousness was playing on Hinata's natural behavior perfectly. "I-I was just taking a, um, walk. S-Sorry..."

"No, it's alright," Tenten smiled slightly, putting her weapons away. "You just surprised me is all. You haven't seen my teammate, have you?"

"W-Who? Neji?"

"Yeah, we were supposed to have lunch together after our team meeting, but he hasn't spoken to me since I agreed to it. Honestly, I don't know what he's thinking."

"A-Actually," Naruto began. "That's kind of why I'm here..."

Tenten looked suddenly a little cross. "What? Did he chicken out and ask you to tell to break the news to me in his place?"

"What? N-No, of course n--"

But Tenten had already made up in her mind that was what happened. She angrily stomped her foot. "I don't understand him. I told him before if he was ever interested in someone, he needed to express himself and not leave it for others."

"H-He means the best with his intenti--"

"So," Tenten interrupted. "He DID send you! I knew it! Jeez, this is so like him! Well, if he can't properly express himself on his own, then I'm not going to go out to lunch with him. In fact, Hinata, are you doing anything for lunch?"

"N-Not that I know of but--"

"Good! Let's go out to eat by ourselves. I could use another girl to talk to about Neji with, especially since you grew with him."

Naruto felt like he couldn't refuse her request and quietly agreed. "...Okay."

"Terrific! Hang out around the fence and I'll come find you when I'm done meeting Gai-sensei."

Naruto nodded and retreated back into the forest where he had left Neji. There, Hinata's cousin was waiting for him with his arms crossed. He looked even more annoyed than Tenten did.

"What did you do, you stupid prankster!?"

"What?" asked Naruto. "I did the best I could, man. But she seems pissed at you for asking someone to talk to her. It's your own fault!"

Neji clicked his tongue angrily.

"Look," continued Naruto. "I get you're pissed, but we had a deal. I talked to Tenten, now give me the airtank back!"

Neji decided to...

Neji decided to...
