Anna Learns Darts

Nicole stood at the entrance of the rec room with Anna, looking around the room for what they could do, yet the redhead causing a glimpse of Anna's eyes. The blonde girl wasn't looking around the room, or even at the tv, she was looking right at Kenny. Nicole's lips curled into a smile, it had been so long since Anna had so much as glanced at a guy, and Kenny already looked to be a perfect match to bring her back into the dating, and much more importantly, fucking world. The only wedge blocking this right now...Mindy.

Nicole played out a few quick scenarios in her head, along with pulling some old memories of the few parties she remembered Kenny being at with her. Then, almost as if a lightbulb went off over her head, Nicole grabbed Anna's wrist, "This way, I have a great idea!"

Nicole brought Anna right over to a dartboard and rushed over grabbing them both a set of darts, "C'mon, let's go, you can't beat me at this Anna," Nicole grinned,

"You're probably right," Anna agreed with a raised brow, "You know I've never played darts before, how would I beat you?"

Nicole let out a scoff, "Because you're...smart and shit, you do great at math, darts is just...trajectory," The redhead finished earning only a **** look from Anna in return, "Ugh, just watch," Nicole quickly took a dart in her right hand and flung it towards the board, nearly hitting the bullseye, though it went just wide enough and hit the outer ring, "See? No problem, just aim, and toss, simple. Now you,"

Anna let out a nervous exhale and took one of her darts in her free hand, pulling back she hucked the dart hard at the board, though it completely missed and drove into the corkboard about a foot to the right, "Oh shit...sorry,"

"It's okay," Nicole laughed, "That's what the board is there for, here watch me again," Once more Nicole pulled back and easily tossed a dart, getting her second dart just as close as the first, "Just relax, if you're too tense and focused you'll end up screwing yourself up,"

Anna nodded and did her best to relax, "Okay, relaxed...I can do that," The blonde girl tossed her second dart, this time too weak, and it fell onto the floor a little over halfway to the board,

"Yeahhhhh, that's not what I meant by relaxed," Nicole said with a small snicker,

"Nikki, I don't know how to do this, let's just play something else," Anna pouted back,

"It's not hard, you just need to practice, Kenny knows -- Hey Kenny!" Nicole began to say before merely turning over and calling out to the teen on the couch, "You know darts right?"

"Yeah!" Kenny called back with a raised brow,

"Cool, switch with me for like five minutes, show Anna how to play, she's struggling," Nicole said causing Anna to look at her with wide, slightly flared eyes,

"What do you think you're doing?" Anna hissed, "I'm not listening to your advice and fucking Kenny to get over Eric so just stop," She sharply ordered Nicole in a low voice, though the redhead didn't so much as flinch,

"Come on, Kenny, please! I want to actually play someone and apparently, I can't teach for shit," Nicole lightly begged,

Kenny looked to Mindy for a moment who shrugged and nodded, "Alright, sure, why not," Kenny agreed while jumping up,

"Awesome!" Nicole said with a grin towards Anna, "Kenny will take great care of you," She said to her friend before sauntering away,

Anna pursed her lips and crossed her arms as Nicole left and was quickly replaced by Kenny. "Hey, so you wanted to learn how to shoot darts?" Kenny innocently asked the girl,

"Not really, Nicole insisted playing even though I never played before and now two tosses in she has you here to train me," Anna muttered back,

"Oh, uh...so you don't want to learn?" Kenny asked while rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably,

"Nikki didn't bring you here to teach me, Kenny, she's trying to match us up," Anna explained while continuing to glare at her red-haired friend,

"Whoa, what?" Kenny asked, bewildered as he too turned to look at Nicole who innocently played a video game with Mindy,

"She always does stuff like this, she thinks she knows what's best for me and then tries to **** it on me," Anna grumbled before finally looking over to Kenny who now had blushing cheeks, "Oh my god," Anna suddenly gasped, her voice turning soft in concern, "I'm so sorry Kenny, that sounded so mean like I hated the fact that you were here or something,"

"N-No, I was just...if that's all true, I just felt a little embarrassed," Kenny nervously chuckled back,

Anna squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head, "Oh geez, please just forget everything I just said, sometimes I don't know what to expect from Nikki, and I can't lie that sometimes I will assume the worst." She calmly explained before looking down in her hand, thumbing her last dart for a moment, "And if you are still willing, yes, I'd very much like if you could teach me to shoot darts,"

Kenny gulped and let out one final stress-relieving laugh, "Sure, Anna, I can do that," Kenny nodded while walking over and gathering up a handful of darts from the board. Anna smiled sweetly at him as he took position right next to her, "It's uh," Kenny began to say while clearing his throat, "It's really all in the wrist,"

Kenny and Anna began to toss darts, each time Anna seemed to do a bit better, and eventually, she was at least making every dart hit the board, however, her accuracy was still awful. "God, I really do suck at this, huh?" Anna said with a small giggle,

"Don't put yourself down, you're getting better fast, you just need to change your stance," Kenny suggested while stepping towards her before pausing, "Uh...may I?" He said while motioning towards her. Anna felt her heart slightly pick up as she nodded back to him.

Kenny stepped right up to Anna, putting his hands on her waist and turning her, so she was sideways towards the board. She felt her body starting to tingle with nerves as Kenny continued to readjust her, moving her legs so they were farther apart, adjusting her shooting arm, even lifting her chin so it was level. Anna chewed on her bottom lip nervously, finding herself watching Kenny intently as he did all this, "A-Am I good now?" She asked in a low whisper as Kenny stood up straight and took a short step back,

"Yeah," Kenny nodded back, his easy smile giving Anna a new set of butterflies in her stomach, "Try and take a shot now, focus on the bullseye and toss just like I was showing you earlier. You got this," Kenny assured her,

Anna pulled her eyes away from Kenny and let out a slow breath, she fixated her eyes on the bullseye on the dartboard and after a few seconds tossed her dart. With a firm thunk, the dart buried itself right into the center of the board and Anna let out a cheer, "I got it!"

"Great job, Anna, see you don't suck at this," Kenny said with a friendly chuckle as he approached the girl to pat her on the back.

Anna however turned and quickly pulled Kenny into a hug, "Yes, yes, yes!" The blonde continued to cheer while holding the teen close, "Thanks Kenny, you're an amazing teacher!"

Kenny felt a near chill run up his spine as Anna squeezed him and he nervously smiled down at her, "Thanks, uh...want to play a real game now?"

"Yeah, let's do it!" Anna swiftly agreed while rushing over to grab them both their darts. Nicole, in the meantime, sat back on the couch, peering over to the duo with a content, victorious smile on her face.
