Ann and Makoto

Futaba couldn't exactly stay to test the gun on someone random. She, Ann, and Makoto had a girls day planned. Ever since Ren had gone back to his hometown, Ann and especially Makoto had taken on the role of 'older sibling', taking Futaba out to a lot of different places to help her get over her social anxiety. But tonight, at Futaba's request, they were staying in her room and watching an old sci-fi movie Futaba had picked out.

Well, that was the plan. Before Futaba bought her gun, hehehe.

Futaba sat in her room, waiting for her two test subjects to arrive. She got a text from Makoto on her phone.

Futaba sent back a thumbs-up emoji and opened the door.

"Hi, Futaba-chan!" Ann said. "So, what movie are we watching?"

"You guys'll love it!" said Futaba. "It's called Return to the Ninja!"

"Isn't that the one you saw with Ren a while back?" asked Makoto.

"Yep," Futaba nodded. "But I haven't seen it in a while, so I figured why not watch it with you guys?"

The three of them entered Futaba's (messy) room, and Futaba cleared some space on her bed.

"You really need to clean this room, Futaba-chan," said Makoto.

"Say, what's this?" Ann asked, fiddling with the gun.

"Don't touch that!" Futaba said quickly, snatching the gun away from Ann. She didn't need Ann or Makoto hitting one of the buttons accidentally.

Then again, now that they were here...

"It's a collector's item from a TV show I watch," said Futaba. She pressed the 'Trigger' button on the gun and aimed it at her friends. "Isn't it cool! Pew! Pew!"

As she fired the gun, she watched a beam come out of it and hit both Ann and Makoto in the face. They looked shocked for about ten seconds before they fell into a trance, purple spirals in their eyes.

"Please input triggers..." they droned in unison.

"Holy crap!" Futaba said, giddy. "It...it worked?!"

She looked her friends up and down. They didn't seem to be faking...and besides, Futaba wanted to have some fun.
