Chapter 47

A fierce combat.
And fierce opposition?
Damon went to strike at the next combatant, but they’d all been teleported away, including the injured ones.
As Damon began walking around menacingly, he had his form grow and grow, and after twenty seconds, he was twelve hundred feet tall. At this point, every being within a hundred miles was aware of his presence.
Damon’s ferocious voice then bellowed, “Heroes, come and fight. Or I might just release this upon the people instead.” And with that, and over half of his mana, Another Sun and Greater Dragon’s Breath combined into one, as he reeled his Draconic maw back, and released a mighty torrent of unquenchable flame and destruction, an unending hellscape would be the result of anything he hit with it. “So… Ten. Nine. Eight…”
“Wait, what do you want? Why are you so set on fighting?” A lithe figure apparated from a burst of green, and she continued, “If you so seek it, we shall fight you to the ****. But that is not our goal, and I would hope it's not yours either, else our entire world be doomed.”
The figure floating before his titanic form was miniscule compared to him, but she showed no fear, which pleased Damon, as he reeled his maw back again, drawing the woman to prepare for another blast, but instead, what came from his mouth was laughter, and suddenly agreeable dialogue, “Ehh… Maybe I don’t need to fight ya’ll, but I’ll take your rogue galleries.” As he was cackling to himself, he began shrinking himself to a reasonable twelve feet tall, and his head was suddenly out of the clouds, which felt weird, such an immense and sudden shift.
The lithe figure approached once again, floating slightly above the ground, “So… I shall bring you to our headquarters, and you shall meet our strongest fighter, and leader. If you so choose, that is.” She was shaking ever so slightly facing this monstrous entity.
But Damon didn’t like that, “No, dear, don’t fear me, please, it’s YOUR courage that has saved this world. So stand strong, don’t hold your head down, hold it high, and this world shall always have my aid, as well as yours.” As he finished speaking those remarkably inspiring words, he pressed his pointer finger to her temple, and cast Bestow Greater Blessing.
With no specific Blessing in mind, it just improved her powers, which wasn’t to say it was weak, as ALL of the Blessing went into improving her latent abilities, they improved by at least 500%.
And she felt all of it, as her inherent nature began glowing, as she rose into the sky, all but moaning from the sensation of improvement.
She felt herself capable of surpassing all previous measures of her strength. As her name, Meteor Maeve implied, she’d always been capable of quick movement and flight, but now, she felt she’d be even stronger than the previously incomparable Millennium man, but as she thought this, Damon released the Banishment he’d placed on that specific figure, and as he appeared, he nearly struck at Damon.
But Meteor Maeve was quicker than ever before, arriving in front of the Millennium man, and restraining him fully, shocking him, and then explaining the situation, as he then calmed down, she then pushed him to the side, after she noogied his head which hurt significantly more than ever before.
“Sorry Mr. Damon, this is my brother. You beat him? Well, I should’ve guessed.” She was nearly upon Damon’s form, as her eyes were glowing in appreciation for his gifts to her, all thoughts of fear or trepidation were gone, without a thought.
“Yeah… Mr. Damon.? Are you staying here long? Steve Bestman was still hesitant, but the words of Damon soothed him somewhat.
“Well, if there's no fighting, I guess I should be going now.” This brought a distressed expression to Maeve’s face, though Damon was quick to silence her, “I shall return, one day. And no, you cannot come with me.” As he said this Steve’s face dropped, while Maeve almost teared up, shocking Steve all the more. “If you follow, my presence would disappear, thus making me a liar. As long as YOU are here, so will my protection. In all manners.”
Damon then grabbed the Gate and threw it in front of him, and as it grew, he said farewell, and walked through it, leaving a relieved Steve, and a nearly depressed Maeve, though she only remembered the words “I shall return.” And her gaze brightened and she, like many others who’d received his Blessing, she would work to prove her worth. All the while Steve was nearly passing out.
Where does Damon go?
