And Earning Trust

I pause and Kallen, Kagiyama and Sugano look at expectantly. Kagiyama coughs and gestures for me to continue before Sugano hits him on his shoulder. I laugh before sighing and looking down, still smiling.

"Okay, well first I'm going to give you three two tests of my own. Then I'll tell you. Firstly, what are your policies, I guess, on beast man rights?" I say looking up at them.

"We strive for equal rights, although that's not very likely." Kallen says before sighing and continuing. "You see, beast man can't hide their ears and tails forever. So in the normal world they'll be discovered sooner or later. So they're pretty much **** to work in the Lyna world. However most guilds and even governments still treat them as lesser beings or slaves. Things have gotten better since we started openly supporting their rights but there are many guilds that oppose us. A few of them are even more respected and stronger. So until we get more power or respect in the Lyna world, it's pretty much impossible to get them equal rights." I pause to make sure I won't regret this before committing to this path.

"Okay, well do you think this will help at all?" I say taking out my colored contacts and showing them my bright green glowing eyes. I see their expressions turn to shock and disbelief. "Well, you recognize them at least." I say smiling nervously and tilting my head.

"What? How did you?" Sugano asks in disbelief. "We thought Gaia had died."

"Yeah, how much do you know about that?" I ask them, looking from one to the other.

"How did you become her Champion!?" Kallen asks in disbelief and utter confusion.

"Sorry, but I need you to answer me first." I say causing them to start looking at each other. The room is silent for nearly a minute before Kagiyama answers me.

"We don't know much. Gaia was a very respected Goddess, always helping others and even working with the guilds from time to time. Then one day, news of her **** started spreading around and no one knew what happened. It was assumed that the Demon God slew her but he too had disappeared. Truthfully I thought the two killed each other."

"That's not entirely wrong. Gaia used the last of her mana to seal away the Demon god when she saw she was going to lose. Afterwards her body started to disperse so she stored her soul within a necklace. Since then she's been gathering mana to remake her body. By the way Kallen, does Myla know what these eyes mean?" Kallen look at me confused before answering.

"No, why? Did she see them?"

"Yeah, she saw them before I got the contacts. I asked that she not tell you though." Kallen nods seems to think about something. The others join him in thought and they remain silent for a minute.

"Okay Eric, if you have Gaia's trust, we'll trust you." Kagiyama says.

"Thanks, can you call Myla and Liz here? And Hino if she's here? Myla was just a little bit mad that I didn't explain the eyes." Kalen nods and calls Liz on his phone. Not even a minute later they knock on the door. Liz, Myla and Hino enter and sit down.

"So what did they grill you about?" Liz asks sitting down. I didn't put my contacts back on and it takes her a moment to notice my eyes. "Why are your eyes green?" She asks flabbergasted causing me to laugh. "It's not funny!"

"Yeah it is. The great Sensor Liz, not noticing my eyes." I say taunting her and Kallen coughs before telling the three about Gods and Goddesses.
