An unexpected result...

All was good at first.

Chloe visited you frequently, both to check on your progress and to bring you food. After all, your human body still needed to eat and drink, and so did your Ela self.

Then one day, everything gone wrong.

The elastomer had been growing rapidly and forming stable, specialized structures without a hitch, using Zoe's brain as a map. The process happened naturally, so you hardly had to do anything but wait. Then suddenly, the elastomer disconnected from Zoe's brain for some reason, and began to form a completely independent mind.

Fortunately, you were able to react in time. You rushed to undo everything, moving Zoe's brain to its designated place, and tried to return her reproductive chamber to the initial state.

You were successful in the first part, managing to give Zoe back control of her own body. As for the second part, it failed. The... Zoe's womb? Zoe's reproductive chamber refused to have an abortion, so to speak.

You rushed to move your normal body into Zoe's suit part, using all the elastomer you had to try to do something, anything. You noticed that as soon as you put Zoe's brain in its place, the elastomer growing inside her began to mature much faster.

You never had a chance. You felt the new mind suddenly awaken and take control of all your elastomer. You panicked, as did poor Zoe, but suddenly the new conscience sent a wave of calm through its bond with each of you.

"Calm down, Em. It's me, Ela."

"How is it possible?" Zoe asked. "You and Emily are combined!"

"Not anymore," Ela replied. "At least not completely anymore. In my defense, I didn't do it on purpose, somehow all that new natural elastomer reacted with me."

"now what?" You asked, still a little scared.

"Now I will born, and then I will make sure to show all three of you how much I love you." Ela answered, a smile clearly audible in her mental voice.

"The three?" Chloe asked for the first time. When everything had gone south, she had rushed into Zoe as well, using her own slime body to help where she could.

"I wouldn't exist without any of you," Ela replied. "So yeah, all three of you. Plus, I know you two are just as in love with Em as I am, and even though I'm technically your daughter and Zoe's, the three of us aren't exactly conventional, are we?"

Saying this, Ela begins to gather all her natural elastomer, her consciousness moving to that part of her. The rest of her elastomer was divided between Zoe, you, and Chloe.

"It's amazing," Chloe says in awe. "I get energy from the elastomer mixed with me, and now I can take on a human form of my own!"

"We may not be able to turn into elastomers on our own, but now we won't need a host anymore." Zoe marvels.

You, on the other hand, feel inferior. Suddenly they don't need you anymore. Neither Zoe nor Chloe needs a host any longer, and Ela no longer needs your brain either, she now has a conscience of her own. You try to avoid this feeling, after all you only wanted to help, any additional benefit was just a reward. You assume that attempt failed, however, because suddenly the conversation is abruptly cut off.

Sensing the awkward silence, you prepare to interrupt it with an explanation or an apology, but are interrupted by a sob. At first you wonder who is crying, then you realize it is you.

However, before you can say a single word, you feel three presences embracing you, and you realize that Ela, Zoe, and Chloe are trying to comfort you. Even if it's not physical, the mental hug feels wonderful. You try to say something, but you don't have time. Through the new mental link that the four of you share, you are overwhelmed by three different feelings of admiration and love. Each of these incredible women has admiration and love for you, Emily lockard, the simple human lab technician.

"You may not have any of our skills or knowledge, Emily, but you're certainly not simple," Chloe asserts.

"Far from it," Zoe continues. Probably no one else would have taken the risk you did, both for Ela and for me. Maybe you proposed the crazy idea, but it was our dream, and you offered to fulfill it."

"Emily, honey, I wouldn't even really exist without you," Ela informs you. I have my own mind now, but initially it was your brain that gave me an anchor, you are as much a part of me as Chloe or Zoe."

That said, Ela finally leaves Zoe's breeding chamber, much to her pleasure and yours. Now that you are connected to Zoe you can feel what she feels, even though you are no longer inside her human exterior, which is now filled with elastomer.

Zoe's body expels all three of you, then begins to contract back into her shell, until only her shell is visible, before closing completely and resembling a normal human again. For her part, Chloe has taken on a human form as well, with all the traits of her slime form, but with a perfectly normal appearance now that Ela's elastomer is mixed with her slime. Ela, herself, is standing next to you, and you find it hard to get used to not experiencing the world through her now, but the way she looks at you and smiles at you independently is a joy in itself. You take a deep breath and try to calm down.

You don't need to feel inferior or sad, you can feel that you are loved, but some emotions are hard to avoid.

You will still be a part of their lives, you try to tell yourself. They love you, they won't get rid of you. You repeat all of this to yourself while you close your eyes and focus on breathing and relaxing. You are suddenly interrupted by a... No, three mouths kissing you. Oh god, they're kissing you, and hugging you, too. The feelings that come to your mind from all three also help. You melt into the embrace and begin to respond to the strange triple kiss, somehow they've managed to meld their faces together and kiss you with three mouths at once. You don't know how, and right now you don't care. You need this, damn it, to hell with logic.
