It rings out.
An old friend
If this was a movie the first thing you’d do is go on a revenge spree. You didn’t want that. Of course you wanted Tommy to get what’s coming to him but what could you do? You’re one dude and not an invincible Hollywood badass. So you looked for a way out.
“Hello?” Came a mature feminine voice from the phone, “Who is it?”
“Rachel, it’s Luke.”
“Luke? You’re awake? No one told me!”
“I know, I know, and I’m sorry for that”
“Thank goodness you’re okay. What do you need? I know this isn’t a catch-up call.”
“You still running that fantasy excursion thing?”
“It’s called the AWIO and yes I still work there, but what does that have to do with-“
“I want to go.” You cut her off shortly, your voice still weak but regaining its natural rough tone.
“What? You want to travel? Listen Luke I know what you did for a living, The AWIO doesn’t allow people with a criminal record as rough as yours to travel.”
“Rachel please. I don’t have a place here for me anymore”
There was nothing but silence on the phone.
“Fine. Meet me at the AWIO Center tonight. You’ll still have to do paperwork but I can vouch for you. I’ll also be a bit lenient with background checks. You owe me hard though”
“I’ve owed you for years.”
“That you have mister. That’s why when you’re over there you’re gonna help a friend of mine. She requires your particular set of skills.”
(Note: I don’t plan on doing sex scenes. They will obviously come eventually but it’s my first time writing anything so don’t expect anything yet.)
(Note 2: note 1 is lying.)
