Staring at each other the greeter recovers first and jumps out of the chair she was sitting in reading a magazine and tries to make herself look professional to some degree. You are just trying to match the woman in front of you with the one you remember, she has to have the best reaction to the virus so far as before she was an over weight, hair already going grey and always looking over worked and tired. Letting out a deep sigh Miss Taylor walks to your side staying a few feet away and starts to explain while she walks you to the bedroom area of the store. " What have I said call me Jaclyn Frankie please and If you must know I got this bloody flu thing about ten days ago now I think or at least that was when I went down so hard I had to call in sick to work. After a day or so I woke up and was like this so of course I freaked out thought I had won the lottery, first thing I did was to see a friend in the next town who is the town doctor and would keep things under the rug so to speak. Turns out he already knew something was going on with this virus as his town was really bad with it already, he took some samples then told me to go home and not go to work till he had the results. A day later he rings me and tells me a lot more then what they said on the news and how lucky I was not just in the looks department but not dying and all that".

Having to agree that must have been a fun conversation to have had, Jaclyn carries on talking as you think this and you just nod in the right places. " Anyway I stay at home and talk to him now and then while milking my sick time when he tells me I can go out an back to work as I an not infectious according to the test results and that things are coming out soon anyway. I stupidly call my boss and tell him what has happened he does not believe me at first and only cares that I can work, it seems a number of staff or someone in their family had come down with this thing and he was short staffed. When I turn up the first thing he does is try it on can you believe it after picking his jaw of the ground that is, then he puts me to work out front, that was like two days ago now. Do you know people I have worked with or knew me for years did not even know me at first hell two staff think I am a temp for gods sake".

Agreeing you still press on why this place is open, " oh the dumb ass manager thinks people still need something to do so lets make some cash. Only problem is no one wanted to come in to work today apart from me, him and two others, you are the first person I have seen and I am sure one or both of the other workers have left without saying a word as I have not seen or heard from them in like over an hour".

Not knowing what to say really you make simple agreeing remarks and say she should head off if it is bothering her. Laughing she says what would she do at home Mary is at college and she has left her messages to come home right now and she cannot get the flu again so money is money, leading you round the beds it does not take long to pick one out along with the bedding. Collecting the bedding Jaclyn calls the back room and low and behold someone is alive back there as they say they will bring the mattress and frame round in a couple of minutes for you. " Thank you so much Jaclyn for all the help and I hope Mary gets back soon, she was a good girl just got off on the wrong foot in chemistry".

Again Jaclyn laugh and says it was only you helping out that let Mary go to college on her sports scholarship and asks if you have head form your brother recently. " Yep his is with my parents and his girlfriend heading to my Uncles place". That elects a response you were not expecting, " she is going where why on earth has she not text me that or rung me", grabbing her phone she starts scrolling before she curses out loud. " Dam it this bloody thing I never should have upgraded last year just who needs all this crap on a phone for gods sake, oh no I missed so many calls and texts she must think I am dead or worse but why has she not called me now or responded to my texts from yesterday".

A little confused at first you want to slap your forehead as you get that Mary is your brothers girlfriend, they always did have a thing you think, but no one has told you she is the girlfriend officially yet. If Mary is your brothers girlfriend she has been on the road with your folks for days now what with the time frame Mary must have tried to call her mother when she was out of it and then when Jaclyn did come round Mary was in the blackout zone and worse your dad has been calling you on the sat phone as reception has been super bad for days now even after they could call again. Pulling out your own phone while it is not a sat phone it does have internet and you send your dad a quick email asking him to call, text or email back ASAP if Mary Taylor is the girl travelling with them. Not wanting to get Jaclyn's hopes up you do not say anything as your brother is or was a bit of a player and so are you now you think about it with all the women you are getting a go at these days.

Telling Jaclyn you are going to bring the truck closer to the door and you will put the bedding in the back you have brought straps and some clean tarps to cover it up for the trip home and thank god you chose the self assembly frame as that should just be in a box not premade, the only big thing is the mattress. Moving the truck up to the front of the store you check your phone and low and behold you have an email reply, reading the email it simply reads. Yes Mary is your brother girlfriend, why the interest and cannot call right now dad is fighting and your brother is covering him love you mom. Not sure what the hell that is all about your mother has always been a little free in herself but that is odd even for her, you can at least give Jaclyn the good news as well as Mary and quickly send another email informing your parents why you asked.
