Once Ash and Iris had reached the Pokémon-Center, the two of them headed into its café area and ordered themselves a bite to eat. While they waited, Ash took a look around to see if she could find someone to use the remote on and possibly change the goal of her journey to something other than challenging the Indigo League. And even if that wasn't what would end up happening, at least she'd be able to find out more about the functions of the remote.
After a bit of looking around, Ash found a promising target. It was a woman with a light tan, wearing a light blue crop top and short-shorts with dark blue straps wrapping around her torso. She had on bulky, dark blue gloves, boots of the same color and also had a dark blue holster wrapped around her right thigh. Furthermore, part of her dark red hair was made up into a bun at the top of her head by a light blue accessory that resembled a propeller. She was currently sitting at another table fairly close to the twins, drinking a cup of coffee. As she took in the woman's appearance, Ash recognized her as Skyla, the Gym Leader of Mistralton City in Unova.
Having decided on a target, the only thing left to do for Ash was aim the remote at her and choose a button. She wasn't sure if any of the buttons she had already used would accomplish the effect she intended, so she would probably have to use one of the unknown ones. Using a moment where her sister had turned her attention away from her for a short time, she aimed the remote, pressed one of the buttons and waited to see its effect.
