An Unexpected Encounter

"You two boys cook us some breakfast while we three girls hit the showers" Carol insisted the following morning. "I'm not really cut out for cooking" objected Max. "That's OK, I'll start the BBQ again and line up the bacon eggs and fried bread for when I reckon the ladies will be returning" said Derek. His view of Max as a lazy asshole was being strengthened at every minute but he knew of Carol's plans for the weekend and so was playing nice for now.

Carol and Charlotte were both dressed in lightweight summer slacks and tops, while Debbi was showing considerably more flesh in an abbreviated crop top and those doctored cut offs. Carol had plans for Debbi and the showers but that was for later in the weekend, this morning was a reconnaissance trip as far as she was concerned to remind herself of the layout there. "They're a bit basic but we're only here for a couple of days" she apologised to Debbi as they arrived at the shower block. "They look clean enough, no problem" Debbi replied. The segregated shower area was not completely open plan, each shower head had its own partitioned compartment but they were all open to the main area which simply provided hooks for clothes to be hung on alongside a row of sinks. Carol was happy to see that it was as she remembered.

This morning, the three of them showered happily and cleaned their teeth at the sinks. "No blow dryers I'm afraid Deb" said Charlotte. "The weather's so warm it'll soon dry and who cares if it's not perfection" Debbi answered.

The camp site still wasn't that busy but as they made their way back towards the tents, Carol thought she saw a familiar face approaching them. "Isn't that Stanford ?" she asked Debbi. "Oh god, it is" her business partner agreed. Stanford was a rival from another company who often battled them for commissions. Misogynist didn't begin to describe him and he reserved his disdain for Debbi in particular, who was the techie in their fledgling start up. "Well, well ladies. Fancy seeing you here" he greeted them. "And who's this delightful young lady ?" he added, indicating Charlotte. "This is my teenage daughter Charlotte," Carol did the introductions. "You look far too young to have a teenage daughter Carol" Stanford said, no doubt thinking he was being suave. "Mind you, one might be forgiven for thinking that this is your teenage daughter" he continued, turning his attention to Debbi. "Quite the interesting outfit Debbi" he leered. "I'm not at work and it's a hot day" Debbi answered defensively. She was suddenly self conscious of her braless state, not to mention her bare midriff and short shorts coupled with her lack of makeup and dripping wet hair.

"Anyway, what are you doing here Stanford ? Are you on your own ?" asked Carol, making polite conversation though wanting to get away from this encounter as quickly as possible. "Yes, I'm a keen photographer and have come out to see what I can find to photograph among the nature and wildlife." It was then they noticed the camera slung around his neck. "Hoping to catch a sighting of a puma ?" Charlotte laughed. Stanford laughed in his turn, saying "Not much chance of that I fear" "Oh I don't know, Debbi here's terrified of the thought aren't you Deb ?" Charlotte joked. "There are all these sightings, I'm only being careful" Debbi defended herself.

"Well, we have to get back to our menfolk for breakfast. Good to see you Stanford " Carol lied and they took their leave but not before Stanford had insisted on taking a photograph of the trio against the forest backdrop. "It doesn't always have to be an abstract shot of nature" he explained. And to prove the point to himself, he took a second photo of the rear view of Debbi in the cut offs as she walked away.
