An Invitation

"Hey girls!"

Nihja and Sabine spun around to see Sabine's friend Robin pass by. Tall, lean, a good boy with a good heart, he would often be ridiculed for how soft hearted he could be. Names like wuss or coward of limp legs were tossed his way sure, but it never really fazed him to much extent. He just was himself and hung around with people who didn't mind that. Which is a bit surprising he became a friend of Sabine's as she is more of a reckless personality while he definitely plays things safe.

I guess opposites attract?

Nihja wiped some sweat off her forehead with Sabine taking the opportunity of throwing her mop aside. "Hey wuss, came for a show?"

"Hardly, looks like I caught you two playing clean up." He teased back, regarding their two buckets of soapy water and accompanied mops.

Nihja nodded. "Mums wanted the front of the house cleaned so... here we are dressed as servants." She smiled, undoing the apron on her along with loosening the hair bun to wave her long hair around.

"Well, you two would certainly make quite a handy pair of workers. How much you got left on ya?"

"Mmmm like, twenty minutes of cleaning more or less. Got something in mind?" Sabine asked.

Robin shrugged. "Just wanted to hangout is all. Maybe talk about that show coming around? It's past noon and Lucas and Belle are out doing their own thing, they didn't seem too interested in joining-"

"Making out behind houses and shit, I bet." Her sister scoffed, brushing her hair aside. "Definitely more interested in each other then anything else. I swear that girl is gonna get knocked up and when she does I better not see any gasps or tears." Robin and Nihja both chuckled.

"What show are you talking about, Robin?" Nihja asked, leaning onto her mop.

"Hm? It's some sort of stage passing through, I guess several musicians are appearing at our village and doing their thing. Couple of performances, some dancing, definitely entertainment popping in. Saw a few posters down near the castle walls, everyone at the Inner City is attending I think."

"Shit, everyone?" Sabina added, in shock. "So like, even the royal family?"

"Especially the royal family, those guys are probably getting first class."

"All because of a few bands?" Nihja asked.

"A few bands? Try Percival."

"Percival!? Percival is coming in to perform HERE!?" Sabine shouted with a mouth so wide open Nihja thought it would fall out.

"Yes, here!" Robin replied laughing. "And for some reason Lucas and Belle aren't too interested. I mean I guess it's the fee though-"

"Fuck the fee, I'm going! When is it, what time?" She asked eagerly like a child on a sugar high.

"Easy there, in like two days they'll be here but the construction for the stage is ongoing, you can see how big they have it set up outside the parade grounds. Place is huge!" He extended his arms as he said such, exaggerated the appearance.

"Well, that sounds like a lot of fun." Nihja mentioned.

"It will be, did you... want to come with?" Robin asked.

"Me?" She blushed. "Maybe, sure. What's the fee?"

"About sixty pounds."

"Oh shit, just barely for me." Sabine muttered, a bit bothered at the price. "Damn, so much for shopping. Worth it though."

"So, you in?" Robin asked shyly and with a sweet smile.

Nihja giggled and nodded her head. "Yea of course, count me in!"

"Awesome! Can't wait then, it's gunna be lit!" He seemed super enthusiastic, a bright smile on his face. He and Sabine high fived before she glanced over at her sister and back.

"Hey uh, Nihja. You mind covering the rest of the front yard for me? I'm going ahead and hanging with Robin for a bit."

"Yea-sure, no problem."

"Thanks, I owe ya sis! C'mon Robin, let's go!" She screamed with glee, strippijg off her apron and running of with him out into the street.

Nihja sighed, gripping her mop before dumping it into the bucket. She didn't tell them she had zero pounds in her pocket.

Where was she getting that amount of money from?
