An Interruption

boy-Kim half jumps and honestly looks shocked. Little wonder on that front, it was the last thing he was expecting. He turns slowly and the crowd almost parts as one of the women in the group speaks up, looking a little mollified and embarassed.

"I... uh..." she stumbles, blushing as she is put on the spot, "I was just wondering if we could have a break."

"A break?" boy-Kim asks incredulously, "But the tour must go on and-"

"Yes," she interrupts again, "I know that. And I know that it's really important. It's just that I need to use the restroom?"

I don't remember this. I really don't remember this. By my recollection, the last time I was on this tour, we barrelled on through seemingly without end and I should know, I would have given anything for a break.

So this doesn't make any sense to me, until it does.

We're late.

Later in the day than we were the last time we were here because of course we are. There are delays this time that weren't here last time and they're all my fault.

Both missing the bus and the altercation with girl-Kim before the tour started and Rachel telling off Blake because of my interference had never happened the last time. My presence and the changes to my behavior had made it so that this time around, things took longer. We took longer to make the tour, each moment adding to the total until we reached the point where we were now.

A quick check of my watch lets me realize that the last time through, we were already at the end. Waiting for the bus which showed up a little late and with us all given free reign to linger around, this woman would have taken her bathroom break without having to ask for it.

But I'd changed things for everyone, just like I'd changed things for certain people. Because everything effects everyone, which is really why I have to do this.
