An Inhuman Affair

"Queen Medusa. It's an honor to meet you," Emily Briggs said as she shook hands with the Inhuman queen. "It means so much to be included in this event. I understand it is a rare event for Attilan, and I have to thank you for granting us this privilege."

"The pleasure is all mine," Medusa replied, smiling warmly. "I believe opening dialogue with Earth’s metahumans will be beneficial to everyone, and when I considered your agency's excellent reputation and ties to the metahuman community, you and your company were the perfect fit for bringing my fashion show idea to life."

"We won't disappoint you. Me and my crew full understand how important this gala is to you and Attilan," Emily promised.

"I have no doubt about that," Medusa replied. She turned to look over her shoulder, where her sister Crystal was talking to fellow Inhuman and SHIELD agent Daisy Johnson; Crystal gestured for Medusa join them. "I'll let you get back to work -- I have other preparations to see to as well."

"Wow. Who knew there was such a spectacular space palace on the moon?" MJ asked curiously as she walked through the city, hand in hand with Kori. She'd seen a few incredible looking palaces in her off-world adventures with Kori, but had no idea there was one on the moon.

Most people didn't, though. Attilan was a very isolationist city, although on occasion the Royal Family was known to ally with the heroes of Earth against foes like Thanos or Darkseid, the city mostly kept to itself. Medusa, however, was now looking to strengthen bonds with those she trusted among Earth's heroes, and as a way of establishing stronger ties with Earth's hero community, Medusa decided to hold a gala at the Inhuman Royal Palace.

"I've been her on the moon a few times... usually in some sort of battle," Jean remarked, looking around. "I've never seen Attilan before. I knew it was advanced, but this is next level."

"The Justice League has worked with the Inhuman Royal Family on occasion," Mari admitted. "They've always been extremely private. The idea of having this gala and inviting outsiders is a massive change... I'm guessing there's been a few since the new queen took the throne."

"Anybody here met the Queen?" MJ asked.

"Briefly," Mari answered. "We exchanged a few compliments after a battle with Starro. He'd taken control of some Inhumans. Don't know much about her personally, but she's impressive in a fight."

"I'm really curious to meet her," MJ admitted. "Since meeting Kori, I've developed a major interest in space royalty."

Kori giggled at MJ's comment. "I believe Medusa is originally from Earth, MJ."

"The moon is in space. She lives in space. I'm counting it," MJ replied with a grin, causing Kori to laugh even harder.

"I suppose that means you'll want to meet her sister, as well."

"Princess Crystal? Of course I want to meet her, too," MJ replied. "You ever meet her, Mari?"

"When I met Medusa, yeah. I know Crystal about as well as I do the Queen -- We also only spoke briefly."

"Well, whether or not we meet either of them, it's nice to be getting the royal VIP treatment... without the control chip or interplanetary legal drama," MJ remarked.

"That reminds me, you two still need to tell me the Tamaran story," Jean commented.

"Maybe after the event," Kori replied with a mischievous smile. "Perhaps when we next share a bed?"

"I'll hold you to that," Jean grinned as the group approached the palace, where Emily and a few event organizers were waiting to greet them. "Looks like Emily's waiting to get us checked in."
