After a chance encounter with the Doctor as a child, they were reunited many years later, and it took little convincing for Amy to join him in travelling the universe together.

A new doctor required a new companion, and Karen Gillan was the star (un)lucky enough to take her clothes off on various on-screen adventures.

With her red hair and thick Scottish accent, she quickly became a fan favourite, and with Karen getting through very few episodes fully dressed, there was widespread disappointment when she left the show.
