Ambushed by an insectoid pupetteer

Fuu rushed about here and there, busying herself with trying to figure out some solution to the mess they had found themselves in. She propped Becky's notebook open, but as she had expected, the pages were filled with various formulae and scribbles, complex enough that, to Fuu, they might as well have been blank. Robin was another possible solution, but she seemed to be getting sleepier and sleepier by the second.

Fuu knew that it was a terrible idea to allow themselves to be **** in a place like this. The dungeon was doubtlessly full of dangerous creatures, who would have loved to attack them at their weakest.

Unfortunately for the Bravos, Fuu was right.

A creature with the shape of a massive beetle had been resting nearby. A long time denizen of the labyrinth, it knew many of the local traps and was well aware of the prey and broodmares that wandered in from the surface. It chittered in excitement, the pale, stony grey of it's shell splitting to allow it's wings to flutter. The distant movement was lost on the distacter Bravos.

The creature adjusted it's position, aiming itself at the party. Then, with a soft whistling sound, it fired a set of natural spikes in a wide spread. The volley soared forward at the group, focusing on those who were still standing, as the intelligent monster well understood that Robin and Becky weren't likely to be much of a threat.
