Alone at last

You are on top of the world as you make your way through the driving rain. You were happy for the horrible weather, it meant that there was even less of a chance of getting discovered or interrupted. Your wipers are slapping back and forth at full speed as you turn off the highway and drive to the little spot you knew about. Your headlights struggle to pierce the rain and darkness. You pull the car into the short dirt path to the farmers field and park behind a huge lilac bush.

Turning the engine off and everything goes dark. You turn to Elsie. You can just barely see her outline in the dark car interior. A flash of lightning illuminates her, it is just the briefest glimpse of her transcendent beauty. The rolling thunder shakes the car as the deafening pounding rain hammers down on it. Alone, you were finally alone with Elsie. After a week of longing she was finally all yours.

(Sorry about the short chapter. I mistakenly left the impression that the Tragic Ending was the only ending and I wanted to get a quick chapter up so that folks realized there was another path to come. Apologies for any confusion there.)
