Allow her to set you free

You lay down on your belly to think. You thought for quite some time. A very long time in fact. You hardly noticed the years slip away. Moss and grass started to grow on top of you, yet still you lay there thinking.

Then one day you came to a conclusion. You stood up, your arms digging at the dirt that accumulated on top of you over the years. Freyaphrodites was still there, cross legged and smiling. She was holding a silver deer with a golden back in her palm. It's antlers were large and impossibly intricate. She let it down, and it hopped off.

"Have you come to a decision then?" She said, as if continuing the conversation from before without missing a beat. You nodded, drooling ooze from your maw. She closed her eyes, nodding. "It will be a slow process, but in time, every part of you will live again, I promise. You will be free."

She scooped you up gently, cupping her hands. You felt like a small critter, but at ease, unafraid in her motherly presence. She brought you up to her face and stared longingly with her eyes. She stroked your body, brushing the dirt off of you, tracing over your arms and tentacles and polyps and protrusions with her finger. You were a monster even a mother wouldn't love, and yet, she truly was your mother, and she loved you, just as she loved all her children.

"Don't be afraid."

She kissed you with her plump lips, and your body began to melt away. Your being disappeared, and your souls were reclaimed. You felt at peace. You were dead, but not forever.

Once again you appeared as a spark of non-being in the void, surrounded by thousands of others just like you, others that were you. You just appeared, but already you felt like you were there for decades, or weeks, or minutes, or years. Perhaps you never existed, it was hard to tell. Regardless, even in your state of non existence, you felt... happy. Fulfilled. As if a wrong has been righted.

Do not worry, a voice said, I will keep my promise.
