Chapter 2 Interlude 1 – Marksman Chosen

“Welcome to the team.” Kaylen offered his hand to her when she approached.

“It’s great to be on the team. I’ve been hoping to get past solo work for a while now, and I promise I’ll be a huge asset, despite my stature.” Alayni wanted to assure her new team leader, but felt she might be overdoing it, and it was with an effort that she took her hand back and stood for a moment in silence after her greeting was finished.

“I’m sure we’ll have time to get better acquainted, but I have another couple selections to make, so why don’t you sit with Ursa and Lyria?” He pointed her towards where his sister and the half-giant woman sat watching, and Alayni nodded.

“I’ll be watching.” Alayni offered a big smile that she knew flashed her dimples, and turned towards the two other women waiting for her.

“Alayni Swiftfoot.” She offered her hand first to the tall human woman as she approached, introducing herself to them both before taking her seat, eager to pick their brains and learn more about their new adventuring party.
