Agree with the lawyer. They were scum.

“I’m glad to hear this,” you say relaxed and smile at the lawyer, “I always thought this people are below me. But mother … well let’s say she had a heart for low lives.”

“I know what you mean,” the lawyer says and nods, “she was a good person, no doubt. But I never understood why she wanted you to grow up in poverty. Or why your father never did anything against it. You could have grown up with servants.”

“Yes, but instead I got, a bunch of airheads and nerds who always paid more attention to my ass instead on the lessons,” you comply and shake your head, “about time things change for the good.”

“About time, yes,” the lawyer mumbles, “do you have some more questions?”

“I have indeed,” you answer, “you said you take care about my school. What about my home? My memberships? And the rest?”

“Of course I will talk to your landlord and tell him what happened,” the lawyer explains, “I make sure you get all your stuff and end the rental contract. Your membership in the fitness studio is also not a problem. There is a branch of the same chain in the new city, quite close to your new home. For the rest, I would say, you can let me take care of this too. Just call me whenever you need my help or advise.”

“I see,” you say, “anything else I should know?”

“Nothing important for now,” the lawyer says and shakes the head, “oh, and it seems we are at my office.”

You look out of the window and see, that you are indeed in front of a law office. The lawyer already grabs his suitcase and gets out of the car as soon as it stops. He wishes you a good day and Eric drives off again. Awkward silence spreads in the car. As much as you know, the city where your father lives is about an hour away. You could use the time to talk to Eric or ignore him and focus on your own problems.
