You prefere to mind your own business.

Since you have no Idea what you can talk about with your giant driver you decide t opull out your phone and answer a few missed WhatsApp messages. Most are from friends who already heared about your mothers **** and ask how you are.

“Miss Pike, do you have moment?” Eric says suddenly, “I would like to discuss a few things.”

“Sure, go on,” you answer carefully and put your phone away, “and you can call me Ashley. I’m not a miss. Do I look that old?”

“Of course not, I’m sorry,” Eric apologizes quickly but emotionless, “I don’t know how you expect things to go on from now on. But I can guarantee you, that I will protect you at every time, outside of home and school. Except you tell me to not follow you. But if you think I will help you that or hurt somebody without reason, I will refuse. Please keep this in mind when you are in town.”

“Did my father ordered you to say this?” you ask with a sleezy smile, “or did he told you to do everything I say? And now you just hope I will accept your words without asking?”

“He told me that I will be your bodyguard,” Eric days strict, “but I’m not a thug like most of the guards. I protect, I drive, I take care for you. But nothing else.”

“Ok, relax big guy,” you say and smile, “until now I have no intention to **** somebody or put you in any trouble. If I need to violate some laws I can do It on my own.”

“That’s fine,” Eric says calm again, “good to know not all members of the Pike-family are like your brother.”

“My what?” you asked shocked, “I have a brother?”

“You didn’t knew?” Eric asks surprised, “his name is William. He is the boss’s son from another woman, so he is precisely your half-brother.”

“Mom never told me anything,” you say shocked.

“I can not tell you anything about her motives,” Eric says calm, “William is 19 years old. Just a year older than you. But don’t hope for a kind new brother to play soccer with. He is a psychopath. And a sadist. He was arrested several times for ****, **** and other crimes. But he is the son of Warren Pike. And as long as your father has enough judges on his payroll your brother will never get punished for anything.”

“God,” you mumble, “what have I gotten myself into?”

“Listen, Ashley, I’m responsible for your health, so I give you this advice: Stay away from your brother,” Eric says serious, “I can protect you from thugs or even killers, if necessary, but not from him.”

“I can’t believe it,” you mumble, “I have a brother. And he is a criminal psychopath.”

There is another moment of silence. Then suddenly Eric drives to a gas station at the side of the road and stops.

“I need to refuel,” he informs you quiet, “if you want, you can wait in the car or get a coffee. Just don’t mess with the wrong guys when I’m not around.”
