Agree with Carlos, promising to scrap reforms

Isabella exhaled quietly, her mind calculating the ramifications of Carlos's proposal. Her father’s reign had always relied on a delicate balance—appease the people just enough to keep them from taking to the streets, but never jeopardizing the economic power of the oligarchs. It wasn’t the leadership style she had dreamed of, but she wasn’t naive enough to think she could change Montesoro without their cooperation. Not yet, at least.

“You’re right, Carlos,” she said, the words deliberate and steady. “Montesoro’s stability depends on partnerships. I’m not here to disrupt what works. The reforms will be... reconsidered.” She **** a faint smile, careful to project confidence. “You have my word that there won’t be any surprises. The investments you and the others have made will be protected.”

Carlos’s grin widened, his eyes gleaming with triumph. “Now that’s what I like to hear, Presidente. Pragmatism over principles—smart girl. Montesoro needs more of that.” He lifted his glass in a small toast, signaling the butler to refill both their glasses. “And don’t think of this as a compromise, Isabella. Think of it as securing your foundation. Once you’ve cemented your rule, you’ll find us far more than willing to back any grand ideas you may have. But first, you must prove that you understand the value of continuity.”

Isabella sipped the wine, the rich taste coating her tongue as she maintained her composed expression. Her stomach churned, though, knowing she had just handed over her leverage for the illusion of stability. Carlos’s words were smooth, but the undertone was clear: they held the keys to her success, and any deviation from their interests could cost her everything. Still, she nodded politely as he spoke, letting him bask in his perceived victory.
