Agree on some things

As if she had been holding in her feelings for as long as you had known about her, Jessica released a deep breath as if it was going to empty out her lungs completely.

“That girl has been talking to me for years about how you and Emma were off in your own little world, doing your own thing. The amount of times I suggested that she just go over and talk to you both has been too many to count but every time she would either just move on to another topic or get annoyed at me for suggesting the same thing over and over again. Like she hadn’t even tried it yet and… errggg” Jessica revealed, getting annoyed just thinking about the past incidents.

Seeing her anger be directed at anyone but you was certainly a surprise and it actually let you see her feeling the hatred and not be targeting you. You already knew she was attractive but for a brief moment, you got to see her as more than just someone you needed to avoid. Someone who cared about your sister enough to stick by her for all this time and listen to her ramblings. And listen without anyone else to share her frustrations with.

You also got to know that Sarah hadn’t actually faced her problem head-on like with how she was avoiding giving her opinion to you and the other subjects recently. You had assumed it was something related to her Freeuse kink but if this had been happening for a while, maybe it wasn’t that? Or at least the KDK might have only heightened what was there originally instead of it being the root cause.

Jessica must have seen that you were less put off by her reaction as her focus came straight back onto you.

“That doesn’t mean I still don’t hate your guts. I mean you are still the cause of all of Sarah’s past problems and you didn’t have to hear her complain” Jessica added, pointing a finger in your direction but even then, some of the heat of her words seemed to have disappeared thanks to your honesty.

“That’s fine by me. I wasn’t expecting one conversation to resolve all of our issues. I was just hoping we could at least stay in the same room as one another and be cordial if it was for Sarah’s sake” you replied, holding up your hands in surrender.

“...Fine, that makes sense. For work as well” Jessica relented, stopping her pointing and agreeing with you for the first time.

With the basics now supposedly covered, you couldn’t help but wonder if now was the time to consider using the KDK. Now that you had it on your mind though, you had no idea how she was going to let you touch her for a full 5 seconds.

Even getting the strangers at the mall over the weekend felt easier than accomplishing this and with her being antagonistic to you, you could imagine her recoiling at the slightest touch from you if you were to attempt anything and another attempt after that would likely put her on edge for any possible interaction after that.

Now was definitely not the right time either as she had moved back away from the desk in her frustration at Sarah and you would be pretty obvious if you suddenly closed the distance.

Luckily it was still the start of your shift and while you could just sit here and wait for her to get close enough to try something, it felt more proactive to see what other situations you could find yourself in.

You still didn’t know if you should add her but the challenge of it was something that intrigued you enough to start considering it more.

“Speaking of work, all I’ve really done is sit at the desk and wait for anyone to come up and approach me. Is there anything else we’re supposed to be doing?” you asked, trying to find something you could continue talking about.

Another sigh escaped her lips but not as meaningful compared to the one she had given at the mention of Sarah.

“It’s mainly this but… I guess I should show you around” Jessica said, not sounding too enthusiastic about having to do her job but still getting up out of her chair regardless.

“Remember I can’t exactly go into the changing rooms so…” you replied, giving her a heads up.

“At least we can avoid that then” she said back, happy that this would take less time.

You had already had a tour thanks to Grace showing you around but having Jessica take you around the place felt a lot more casual in comparison. It felt like you were learning all the tips and tricks to the job that a boss wouldn’t be able to tell you and you were trying to take in her words like a sponge given that all of this sounded useful.

Which areas and machines people tended to avoid so you had to check them less, which machines seemed to have issues more than others. That and much more as she was walking you around.

It even felt like the members were treating you a bit better now that they had seen you walk side by side with Jessica as if she was the one who had the final say on members of staff.

You did have to admit that even though she was hard to get along with, she did seem to know her stuff so that sort of knowledge was bound to get her respect from the people who came here regularly.

All in all, it took her about 30 minutes to give you a full tour of the place and it seemed way more comprehensive than the last one with Grace and it took less time. You were back at the front desk and back in your chairs in what felt like no time.

You were actually intrigued and while you had been aiming to see if there were any moments you could register her for the KDK, you had been too busy to actually check that bit out.

You did end up asking Jessica a few clarification questions on some of the things she had said and you got to see her eyes widen when she realised you had actually listened to her and had taken in everything she had said.

“You actually seem to care about this job huh?” Jessica asked with a hint of surprise.

“I mean yeah. Just because I know Grace, it doesn’t mean I’m gonna slack off. Well if there’s no work to do then maybe but for the most part I do want to do a good job. Plus she is my girlfriend’s Mom so I do want to give a good impression” you joked, trying to keep your relationship with Grace a secret for now.

Even while joking it felt like her opinion of you had improved a lot more than you would have expected with just that one comment and when you went to check the time on your phone, you saw a notification waiting for you on your home screen.

Sorry to do this but I will be extending the 2 chapters a week for just one more week(no chapter on the 6th)
My moving date has been moved up and now rushing around with that. Would rather just take a little extra time instead of just ending up in the same position as last time.
