Chapter 11
by The Other Guy
Are you able to maintain control for the hours to the capital?
Against Edin's unintentional actions you are
You spend most of the time looking out the window and away from Edin. This is because each time you look at him he was interchangeable taking a bite out of a piece of fruit which made you stare at his lips and admire how soft they looked or on his knees on the bench so he could get a better view out of the window which conveniently shoved his ass into your face. For a moment he had fallen asleep and you'd hope that you get some relief but when you looked at his sleeping form you remembered what happened this morning and seeing those gentle facial features made you remember how soft the rest of him felt in your arms. And how wonderfully firm other parts did.
When he woke up your legs were crossed and you were focusing on the outside world.
"We there yet?" Edin asked leaning over to see what had you attention. The movement got him close enough that you could smell his ever present sea salt and looked over to see his eyes flick from your face to the window. Hard to blame him you were pretty sure your entire head was red at this point. He probably thinks you're coming down with something.
"Not sure. Can't see any buildings." You say leaning back a little to him get a better view. Which he gets by crawling closer and ending up bending over your lap to look outside. You internally scream at your eyes and hand to keep themselves to themselves and not doing anything to freak out your only friend by grabbing his ass and feeling it in your hands.
Edin stays there for a long moment while you are frozen to be as not creepy as you can be. Eventually he seems satisfied with the view and moves back. As he does you are very grateful your legs stayed crossed as he slipped a little and put a hand on your thigh. He looked up at you from your lap. "Sorry." His big innocent eyes sped your heart up even more than it already was. He stay like that for longer than you thought he needed to move.
"It's fine." Your acceptance of his apology makes him let out a soft huff and return to his side of the bench. When you look over he is fidgeting with his pants and crosses his legs. Great now you've made him uncomfortable. "How will we know when the capital is close?" You hope talking might help but regret it as talking requires you to look at each other and looking at Edin so far had not been helpful.
He seems to forget his discomfort and smiles at you. "It's on the coast so first you'll smell the sea salt." If Edin wasn't present that might have been possible. "Then the fields shrink as houses appear around you. Like when you arrive at a village and see the buildings on the outskirts but a lot more. Then the buildings start to get taller as you get closer, some reaching four stories."
The wonder in his voice reminded you of one of the biggest differences between this world and your previous. A four story building in a capital was the standard not something that only sometimes happens.
"Then the buildings start to break up as the Royal Gardens start." You had seen paintings of the capital and from Edin's letters knew it roughly. The capital expanded over eight hills and stretches of cliffs along the coast line. From it's described layout you assume that in the past a motte-and-bailey castle was its focal point and as the associated village expanded along with the dock so too had the fortifications. As the capital expanded some Queen had wanted to maintain a barrier between the nobles and the commoners which took the form of bands of gardens that encircled each of the hills. The rest of the capital was a gentle slop downwards toward the outskirts and farm land. As you understood it each hill was occupied by either a royal or high ranking noble's estate. with one of them containing the Royal Academy but otherwise knew very little about it. "...can see the sea right out the window." Edin said pulling you back to him. You'd spaced out trying to create a mental map of the capital rather than one of his naked body, which instantly appeared in your head.
You moved to try and physically dislodge that image from your brain. Thankfully your legs were still crossed.
"Sorry I didn't mean to talk so much." Edin looks down at his lap and toyed with his hand bashfully.
You'd spent the entire ride with Edin trying to ignore him. It hadn't even occurred to you he would notice it. "Sorry I just..." You can't really be honest here. Saying sorry I don't mean to be rude it's just that every time I look at you you turn me on and I am trying really hard to not make things awkward between us by coming onto you. "I like the sound of your voice and didn't want you to stop." You answer only realising after the fact that it was much more flirty than you intended it to be.
Edin opened his mouth to speak then closed it. "T-thank you. I really like lots about you." His eyes darted to you then to your crossed legs for an instant before going back to his hands.
The two of you sit there feeling two very different sorts of tension before being freed from it by the sight of something blue out of his window. "Is that the sea?"
Edin spins to look out the window. "YES!" He jumps up and pressing his face against the window. "It's amazing isn't it. My family has a holding along the coast." He sounds very happy and to have totally forgotten your horribly inappropriate comment. "I haven't been back since I was three." You're reminded that Edin had been a ward of some local Lady but didn't know anything about it. In none of his letters had he ever mentioned anything about it.
"Do you want to?" You were curious about your friend and it was a much safer topic than anything your brain was suggesting.
"Not really. I barely even remember anything about it anymore." He sounded sad but it didn't sound like a fresh sadness so probably not something you should probe. Especially as you are now because there were much better words than probe you could have used and if that isn't foreshadowing inappropriateness you didn't know what is.
"Like being near the sea?" Seemed like the safer route.
"Oh yeah." He turned an excited face to you. "I love the smell, the sound, being able to look at something massive and feel it for a moment as you let it take you." His eyes lowered a little as he gave that somewhat garbled explanation. "I mean being able to just float in the water and let yourself drift with it, not having to be responsible." He was breathing a little heavier as he finished.
"Wouldn't you be worried about getting caught in a rip?" You asking feeling a little worried about his blasé approach to the ocean.
"Not if I'm with someone I trust, then I can just let go." He was looking at you as he said that with somewhat glassy eyes. You looked at each other for a long moment. Your horny brain was trying to insert a meaning to Edin's words that wasn't there since he wasn't talking about anything to do with you. You couldn't see your face but you could feel it trying to do an impression of Anastasia's glint.
"Is that the capital?" You catch a glimpse of a few scattered building out of the window and hope it would divert Edin from your face and your face from its expression.
Edin kept looking at you for a moment before looking out the window. "Oh yes you can see it just on the horizon." His excitement made you look out your own window and sure enough pressing your head against the window let you see the uneven terrain from a city.
It seemed like an excellent reason to not look at Edin and prev out anymore so you kept your eyes glued to the slowly building sight.
The closer you got the more impressive it was. The world was still technologically in the early middle ages so seeing a city was surprising. The closer you got the more breath-taking this cities skyline became. While you doubted the population reached the million mark there was absolutely the scale for it. Going from your father's estate to this might well have ruined your estimation of scale but this city was massive. If there were under five hundred thousand people living here you would be baffled. And more surprising was that it looked clean. You weren't expecting trash to be in the streets or anything but as the carriage moved past buildings you didn't even see dirt marring windows, which you also hadn't expected. Glass was apparently produced in large enough quantities for the buildings even in the outskirts to have.
As the carriage kept moving forward you stopped believing the so recently build up idea. Not because you saw something that disputed what you were seeing but because the carriage wasn't changing direction. It was moving straight, which told you this was a main road, which meant the buildings here would be better looked after.
The trip though the cities outskirts passes smoothly until you come to a stop. With a glance down the window you can see the reason for the stop is traffic. You expected something to happen that would remove the traffic, unable to see Anastasia waiting for too long.
"Is the capital usually this busy?" You ask without looking at Edin just to be safe.
"Usually." He answers leave you a little disappointing. You were really hoping this trip would be over soon and you would be able to stop in your new room to relieve some stress. "It normally doesn't take long to get moving."
"Anastasia took you out a lot?" You had gathered as much from letters but wanted to keep talking.
"Yeah she said I look good on her arm."
"You'd look on anyone's arm." He giggles a little. The comment slipped out before you could stop it.
"Including yours?" He asked and you very deliberately didn't turn around to save yourself some embarrassment.
"Probably." Your answer was non-committal but he didn't push for anything more as the carriage had started moving again and you could both go back to the silence of city watching.
A part you did find interesting was the slow increase in the number of stories on each building. Gradually the single level houses gave way to double stories and they then slowly became triple stories. Following what Edin had said you kept an eye out for any four stories. It would be the tallest building you'd seen in this world. Your father's estate was only two.
Then very suddenly the buildings ended and the garden took over. Going from the pale white of plastered buildings to the sudden lush greens and vibrant mixtures of flowers that was the very carefully manicured garden with quite the visual shock.
You saw dozens of people lazing around on the grass. Some where eating and drinking, others playing some games and lots of kids running around.
The gardens then gave way to trees. Not even comparable to the forests back home, you could stand on one side and, with a good angle, see through them. But they did provided a barrier between the garden and the nobles estates.
You were so enthralled with watching the sights the trip up the hill passed quicker than you thought it would. When the carriage stopped your door opened and the driver was standing outside. "We have arrived young Masters." He bowed slightly and backed away so you and Edin could step out.
When your foot his the stone ground you were surprised the only person present was on a women waiting for you. You'd have thought the princesses would garner some sort of attention. Edin stepped down beside you and together you waited. "Christopher, Edin." Anastasia's voice was muffled by the carriage.
You both turned to see Anastasia looking out the window. "Your Highness." You said with a bow. She grinned that predatory grin.
"We need to go to our Estate. Mother shouldn't know we were gone but if she does..." She trailed off but you saw her turn away from the window to look at Isabelle. "I will send for you tomorrow if I am able. If not go about your business." She waved and leaned back, dismissing you and Edin. The driver was back on his seat and nodded at you before taking off. Apparently your momentary interest in his role had earned you some degree of note from him.
As the carriage left you looked at your hands and saw a lack of luggage. "Again really." You mumbled as all that you brought with you presumably rolled off down the road. At it's speed you could very easily catch it. You got ready to do just that when you heard someone clear their throat.
The women who had been wait for you was standing with your bags waiting next to her. "Oh thanks." You smile walking over to pick them up. There were only three trunks so you could do so pretty easily.
You'd wrapped your hand around one of the trunk's handles when the person stopped you. "There's no need for that my Lord. Your luggage will be taken to you room." She looked at Edin. "Yours has already been delivered. Please follow me." She spun on her heel and started walking so you and Edin followed after her. "You sponsorships have been confirmed by the bursar, you will be provide with two uniform. At the end of each day you are to leave the uniform you wore outside your door. It will be cleaned and returned at the start of the next day. If you do not leave your uniform to be cleaned it will not be. At the end of each week your room will be cleaned and your linens changed. If you require anything to be cleaned before the end of the week submit a request at the attendant office or provide the dirty items. Should you wear a dirty uniform you will be fined and will receive a reduction in your services. Should you repeatedly fail to meet requirements you will be removed from the Academy." The women spoke and walked fast making you and Edin maintain a brisk pace to keep up. "You will be provided with a class schedule in two days. Classes will begin the day after. Should you fail at any subject you will be fined. Should you continue to fail you will be removed from the Academy." She ended a building that you guessed was the dorms. "Should you need directions an attendant at the office will provide them, there is one next to the entrance of each building." She wave to a small alcove with a man standing in it. "There is no curfew however, the Academy closes its gates at sun down and the dorms are sealed at ten sharp."
She started climbing the stair and you couldn't help but notice that your luggage didn't seem to be anywhere near you. She skipped the second level and climbed to the third. "Your room is at the end of the hall." She held out two stones one for you the other for Edin. You took one of the offered stone.
"Wait room singular?" You asked as she put her arm down.
"Your sponsorship is only for one room. Dinner will be in one hour on the bottom floor." She turned and walked down the stairs not giving either of you a moment to comment.
You looked at Edin and he looked up at you. You swallowed nervously hoping the room would be divided somehow to allow you some privacy.
You both walked down the hall to the last door and you put the stone against the door knob. It got slightly warm and opened. It was a basic bit of magic you had figured out when you were a kid, a fancy lock and key. The fact that magic was used in place of a simple key had gone a way to proving how ubiquitous magic was in this world.
Inside the door was what you were dreading. The room wasn't small by any means, easily larger than yours back home, which was already extravagant. However on either side of the room was a bed and nothing between the two that could give you privacy. You swallowed nervously again and walked inside. "Have a preference?" You ask looking between the two beds. They were even double bed, surely whoever designed this room could have just replaced them with singles and stuck a wall between the two.
"Whichever you want." Edin said walking behind you.
"Then I'll take right." You walk over and take a seat. You open your mouth to ask how long he thinks it will be for the luggage to arrive when there was a knocking at the window. You get up and see your truck floating there expectantly. You open the window and all three float inside. Checking the magic you can see that rather than fly it was essentially a magic rope and pulley that fell apart once not in use. "Convenient." You grab two and put them on your side of the room then do the same with the third.
As you considered when to unpack you turn to see Edin bending over to look into his wardrobe. Seeing that ass pointed at you and ever so slightly shifting side to side as he went though his belongings brought the entirety of the last few days horny back. You are helpless to you own body as you walk towards him, stopping a little back from him but closer than is platonicly appropriate. "Hey Edin?"
"Yeah?" He asks but doesn't turn, if anything he starts to wiggle a little more. You really wish he was a little more aware but that is unfair, this is your horny not his causing issues for you, nothing to do with him at all.
"Um would you mind if I had the room to myself for a bit?"
At that Edin stood up and turned. As he turned he took a step towards you and bumped against you. He actually knocked himself back a bit and you reflectively reached down to catch him.
You were both still for a long moment. Holding Edin pressed against you. His slender body seemed to fit so naturally against you. Looking down at him you moved your hand a little and felt his ass perfectly cupped in it.
Your horny took over for a moment and you squeezed him softly. Reality clicked for you and you let him go. He didn't do the same. While you reflectively caught him he'd reflective tried to catch himself and you were all he could grab. His arms were wrapped around your waist and when you relaxed your grip he'd strengthened his own pushing his hips against you for a moment.
Well that was that. You might be able to claim you were just catching him and the groping was accidentally but there is no way to pretend what is pressing against his stomach is anything other than what it is.
You pull back and he drops his hands. You both stare at each other for another long moment before you take a step back. "Sorry I just um, being away from home for the first time. I just ah wanted sometime to um you know..." To your ears it barely even qualified as a bad excuse.
Edin looked down at your waist and he blushed even more. "R-right sure." He walked over to the door.
Are you finally able to let go of some tension?

Reborn into Calitian
You are reborn into another world of magic and fantasy. How you live is your choice, the consequences are as well.
The world of Calitian is a world of magic whose sentient inhabitants vary from human to decidedly not. You are rather unexpectedly reborn into this world however you do not get the expected god delivered spiel about said rebirth so you are on your own. This should be interesting.
