After the Memory

Alexis dropped to her knees before the podium holding the book, her vision blurred with tears, the intense memories she had just experienced overcoming her.

That is when Fidelisa placed her hands on her shoulders, squeezing gently, to just let the woman know she was here for her.

Alexis blinked as she looked back up over her shoulder, “Aunty Lisa, is Miss Eos really gone? But, but she was so sweet, I really wanted to meet her.”

Wet streaks traced down the imps cheeks, “yes, dear, yes she is gone and she was not the only one.” Leaning down to pull her into a hug, “We love you dear, and I promise you I would never fail you like I did before. Plus you have Mistress Hekate, and she will do anything to protect you darling.”

Alexis turned slightly, so that she could return the hug, “thank you.”

The two sat huddled together grieving their loss.

Finally after what seemed like forever the two parted, Fidelisa reaching up to wipe her eyes. “Well I didn’t plan on you seeing that, but I am happy I could share it with you. I’ve never shared that with anyone before.”

Alexis smiled, and nodded, and who was that man at the end, the one that stopped you at the arena.

Fidelisa sighed deeply, “Master Aiwass, well he is complicated. Even Mistress Hekate struggles with understanding him. So please just becareful dear when you do meet him.”

She blinked, “yes, Ma’am, but he seemed so nice.”

Fidelisa giggled, “So dear, did you learn anything during that visit. It is not what I planned but hopefully you could gather something from what you saw.”

Alexis nodded, “I’m not sure, maybe, after all I feel like I spent a lifetime with you and Lady Eos.”

Fidelisa smiled once more, “then that is good dear, although I do feel I should bring up one thing.” Her voice becoming more serious as she spoke.

The younger woman pulled back slightly, “You do?”

The imp nodded, crossing her arms in front of her, “Dear, I love you as if you were one of my own. However remember when in someone’s mindscape you are a guest. As such you should never touch or explore without their permission. There are memories or fantasies that they keep hidden from the world. Things that they fear coming out, and it would be rude to go through anothers’ memories without permission.”

Alexis blushed looking down, “I’m sorry.” as she bit down on her lower lip.

Fidelisa sighed, reaching over to pet the top of head, “Dear don’t be sorry, just learn. There are those out there that invade minds and use those personal memories for their own means. I just don’t want my sweet little girl to fall down that path.”

Sighing Fidelisa glanced around, “For now lets go back to the real world, we have spent enough time in my mind.”

With that they returned back to the world and and the home she shares with Hekate.
