After dinner

Ruby sat in anxiety for the entire meal that night. With her plans with Kyne looming closer, that was basically all she could think about. She tried to hide it from her family, but it was difficult to say how effective she was.

After dinner, Ruby told her dad she was going out for a walk in the woods. Tai didn't seem too happy about it, but he reneged seeing as Ruby had completed all of her chores that day.

Thanking him, Ruby rushed out the door, eager to continue her newfound fantasy.

As soon as Ruby entered the woods and began walking to the river, the path came rushing back to her. All those times she and Kyne had come walking through these woods, hoping to get some escape from the stresses of childhood. Tests, homework, bedtimes, it was all too much. This was their chance to get away from it all and relax for a time.

Ruby had opted to not bring a towel with her. She didn't want to explain to her dad that she was going swimming with an old friend. Not that Tai would have anything wrong with that. Just that Yang would undoubtedly start teasing her about seeing a boy, and might even follow her. And that was the last thing Ruby wanted, with what she had planned.

After about five or ten minutes, Ruby pushed a small branch aside and came upon the small river that she had visited so many times in her childhood. The way the evening sun filtered through the trees above, casting shadows on the water surface and the rocks and dirt that lined either side took Ruby right back to when she was ten years old. Splashing the cold water onto Kyne and whoever else decided to join them on that afternoon. Playing games like Marco Polo, or even chicken when they got older.

Ruby let out a wistful sigh, relishing in the memory of simpler times, before moving down towards the river bank. She found a small hollow at the base of a tree, just a few feet away from the river itself, that Ruby believed she could use to hide her clothes. She wanted to go skinny dipping, but she also wanted to make a game out of it. How long could she go before Kyne realized that she was naked?

Looking around for a moment and taking a few deep breaths, Ruby grabbed the bottom of her shirt and pulled it up over her head, exposing her pert boobs to the outside world for the second time that day. Folding it up, Ruby placed it in the little alcove, trying to keep it as hidden as possible. She then stood back up and unbuttoned her shorts, pausing for a moment before sliding her shorts down her smooth, pale legs, folding those up as well. She then placed her shorts along with her shoes and scroll in the alcove, hoping to whatever gods were listening that nothing happened to these.

Turning back to the water, Ruby took slow, small steps closer and closer until she was right at the edge. She dipped her toe in and found it absolutely frigid. She jumped back a foot and shivered, caught completely off guard by this. She knew the water could be cold, but this was a whole other level.

Inching back forward, Ruby dipped her toe in again, mentally preparing herself for the shock this time. It still hit her, but she **** herself to power through it, slowly moving further and further into the river, allowing her body a moment to adjust before going deeper. She eventually reached a point where the water was at about her shoulders, concealing her body from anyone who might pass by. Ruby then pushed off from the bottom of the river, doing her best to swim in place and keep her body moving in order to generate some amount of heat.

Now, all that was left for her to wait for Kyne...
