"...why do you even want to do this Kazuma?" Aqua asked. "Didn't you say you just wanted to live as comfortably as you could? You definitely have the means now for a while, why not just wait the Dullahan out as originally planned?"

Damn. She was asking the same questions Kazuma had been asking himself not even an hour ago, and like he'd been thinking, there was no way in hell he would admit the conclusions he had come to. So, onto some good old fashioned bullshitting. "Because quite frankly, I know you lot are just going to keep pestering me to go on quests, I finally agree, I almost die, then after I get paid, rinse and repeat. I'm honestly a little sick of being dragged into suicidal quests that on paper are impossible for me," he replied.

"And yet, your quick wits have let you come out on top," Cremea pointed out.

"Well yeah, but even so, I kinda want to go on easy quests for a change of pace, and that ain't happening until the Dullahan is gone," Kazuma answered. "Or at least more moderate ones, like the troll. Now THAT was refreshing... Unfortunately, quests like that are too few and far between to count on anymore, and honestly? If I'm going to be dragging Megumin around to blow stuff up every day, I want to get paid for it. So yeah, no more suicidal quests until we are sufficiently high leveled to breeze through them, but until then, we need the moderate and low level ones back so we can level up and profit with a modicum of safety again."

"...alright, I guess we're going to talk to a Dullahan then," Aqua sighed. "...even though it's going to take every ounce of restraint I have to not purify him..." she grumbled.

"Guess we're in too," Cremea agreed. "Let's go pay this Dullahan a visit."

"...remind us again how you talked us into this?" Cremea asked as they looked up at the castle. As far as castles went, it was a rather small one, but knowing what was in it, as well as the fact that the operative word was still "castle," it looked very imposing indeed.

"Logic and reasoning Cremea, that's how," Kazuma replied as they cautiously crossed the drawbridge. "...no minions yet, but keep your guards up," he stated, approaching the big doors. Looking up, he considered.

"...so, what, do we just open them up and stroll right in, or..." Darkness started to ask, before Kazuma just straight up decided, "Fuck it," and began to knock on the door, a bit hard and loud.

"...you can't be serious..." Fio deadpanned at Kazuma doing so.

"What? I kinda wanna make it clear we're not here to fight from the get go, letting him know we're here seems to be a good way of going about that..."

"You actually think he's going to hea-" Aqua was cut off as the door slowly creaked open on its own, as if by magic. "...why do I even bother?" Aqua sighed.

"I guess that's our invitation," Kazuma stated, but kept his hand on his sword just in case. "Into the breach..."
