After a few more accidents, Vanessa has another idea

This cycle repeated a few more times throughout the afternoon. Vanessa would take Lauren to go potty, Lauren couldn’t perform, then soon after they left the bathroom she’d have to pee and drag Vanessa back. Sometimes she got closer than others, but Lauren never seemed to be able to drag Vanessa back quickly enough to avoid wetting herself.

Lauren sat up slowly, adjusting to the feel of the fresh padding between her legs. "I don't understand what's happening to me," she whispered, her voice catching. "Why can't I control it anymore?"

"I don't know," Vanessa replied, her expression thoughtful. "But maybe we should stop trying to fight it for now. The stress of trying to make it to the toilet might be making things worse."

"What do you mean?" Lauren asked, dread pooling in her stomach.

"I mean, maybe we should just accept that you need diapers right now," Vanessa explained. "Instead of rushing to the bathroom every single time, only to have accidents on the way, you could just... use your diapers as needed. It would be less stressful for both of us."

Lauren's chest tightened at the suggestion. Just use her diapers? Give up on even trying? "But that's... that's like giving up," she protested weakly.

"It's not giving up," Vanessa countered. "It's accepting the reality of your situation for now and letting you and your bladder relax and not stress things so much. Think about it. You've had what, seven accidents today? And every single time, you were trying to make it to the toilet."

Lauren couldn't argue with that logic, much as she wanted to. Every attempt to use the bathroom like a normal person had ended in failure and humiliation.

"We can still try the toilet and still put you on a regular schedule to try using it," Vanessa added, seeing Lauren's distress. "But if you have to go outside of those times, maybe we don’t have to try making it to the toilet every time. Let's reduce the pressure you're putting on yourself."

Lauren bit her lip, considering. The thought of just giving in, of accepting her diapered state, made her stomach churn with shame. But the constant rush to the bathroom, the inevitable failures, the growing anxiety each time she felt the urge… it was exhausting.
