Jack almost had a heart attack when she got a message from Shepard.
Miranda’s in the hospital. Don’t freak out. She’s okay. We got to her in time. Had a run in with her father.
It was Jack’s turn to freak out as she rushed to Huerta Memorial. She ran into the hospital and saw Chakwas was there. “Where is she?” Jack said.
“Over here,” Dr Chakwas said as she led her to Miranda’s room.
Jack gulped as the door opened and she saw Miranda’s beaten up body, her face had scars on it. Jack rushed to Miranda’s side. Miranda turned to look at Jack. “Jack…”
Jack teared up seeing Miranda in such a beaten state. “What did I tell you, Miri?” Jack whispered. “I can’t lose you.”
“I had to keep… Oriana safe,” Miranda whispered.
Jack pressed her forehead against Miranda’s and gave her a light kiss. “I need you to survive this war, cheerleader. I need to see you on the other side.”
“I’ll be okay,” Miranda said. “I did take your advice. Shepard was able to warn me. Otherwise… otherwise, I don’t think I would have made it.”
“Shut up,” Jack said. “Don’t tell me the odds. You and I are going to have a one on one session when you’re cleared to leave. Non- negotiable.”
Miranda smiled and nodded. “You can smear the walls with me.”
Jack gave Miranda passionate kiss. “I’ll be around. I’m not leaving until you’re free to go.”
